Week 1 @ work

星期一, JR and me had a day off before starting work, compared to other guys in GIP. Because he arrived later in the week, he didn't get to the place of cheap clothes before like us. Brought him to qipu 路, where they sell fake stuff and cheap clothes and it's a place that i bought a jacket and the zipper broke 2 days after. acks!! However, things there are cheap la.. so who cares, just buy wear and throw. Along the way to carrefour, we walked pass 世纪公园, it's a gigantic park and probably they nicest in spring.. must pay for entrance lor!

This is actually a day before monday, went to 人名广场 for a walk and fix JR's specs. He blame it on the cold weather that his frame broke, went to a place in nanjing lu to fix. It's amazing what they offer. To fix a pair of glasses you can either, use fire to weld, or laser to weld.

Fire cost 5 yuan, Laser cost 80 yuan.

JR took the latter, and it takes a week, hope it turns out good. :)

星期二, 1st day at work. we shared a cab together with some people staying in 万邦. The travel journey cost 32 元. Quite cheap!! Because the reporting time is 9.30 a.m., we didn't take the bus, however when we got there, we realise we were the last!! omg... cuz everyone took the free shuttle. 8 rmb in turn for 45 mins good sleep... mmmm!! shall take the shuttle next time!! Sucks to be late as well, cuz we got forms to fill and it took awhile, held back peoples time.. tsk tsk... Lunch time, we were treated by emerson's department bosses, they were very nice, brought us to a restaurant nearby, although i heard the HR lady monica telling the waiter 6 dishes to be served, there seem to be like 12+ dishes. Already, before we got in, there was already about 5 cold dishes on the table waiting for us. Becuz we are all new, it took awhile before everyone get started, and ready to eat. Paiseh ma, afterall in a foreign land. Good food just see, don't eat can liaos.
Tried something new and nice 玉米汁, corn drink, it's a drink, not soup, fyi!!
However this is not the best meal in my 3 days at work.

星期三, 12 pm, everyone gathered at the reception counter. Today is a treat by the evn bigger bosses, overall HR of emerson and other companies, like rosemount and marine solutions. The bosses are ang mohs and quite nice to talk to. However, sometimes, just imagine them in such a position, and thinking how much they earn, and the people they meet, you wouldn't wanna step on their toes.

Anyway, this meal is a whole new experience, Waitress waited for us at the lobby and invited us up to a 套房. Going in, the waiter helped us take out our coats and hang it nicely on a rack for us. There is even a toilet in the room!! Dishes were served in individual portions with like 12 dishes all together. There, I had 玉米汁 again, however this time, it tasted very different, it's thick and with fuller flavour compared to the restaurant on tuesday. Could be a placebo effect thou :P.

Evening, we order 外卖 with hx, wm, wl and tab. Quite cheap 8 元 for my mushroom beef rice. Tab got us some nice yummy cakes from cafe 85 and breakfast, which was very sweet. Got this very innovative picture took by JR. It's a wednesday, lazy to get out after a long day and I was sick!~~

Nothing much for today! However I saw ultra light snow showers this morning, and my first experience in the cookhouse. The food isn't too bad, best thing was it isn't as oily as what u get from outside, one can choose from many veges and meats they have. A couple selection of drinks and fruit which seems to be always 砂糖桔.. lol~~ Anyw, just after a week plus, i missed playing tennis. Seeing those people play on china tv makes me wanna get out to hit some balls and makes me think of back home. Thinking nick n ely is training up, when i get back, u can thrash e phat vinny. Miss u guys, please be well.

It's time where our sound systems reach another new height of SQ(Sound quality)... I remember back in year one, we talked about boomyness, and loud music with lots of midrange in the music that produce vocals. Therefore, unknowingly, we think it's good music. Having played the Burmester CD (Audiophile test disc) that time and now, yield completely different results. The sounds we are getting now is mind blowing!! The music can reach a level so real, he though I was talking to him! Yes! Vic! It's all his fault. Went to Koba(a place selling electronic parts) and saw some high grade capacitors for a relatively cheap price and decided to give it a try. FYI, capacitors are charged storage devices that can be music cross-overs(a electronic component that determine which frequency range to drive individual speakers), differen capacitors produced different sound signatures and will give different amount of sound detailed when used.

The 2 types midbass electrolytic caps I got, Elna Silmics and Rubycon. The Silmics has been highly rated due to it's fine construction and muscality. You can do a search on google on silmics and they will thrash you loads of info about this fine capacitor.

Next part, will be the myths on bypassing capacitors. It was said online and by many people. If a capacitor is bypassed by another of a smaller value, it's able to extend higher treble to recreate an instrument sound better. Intially, I bypass the Silmics with Cheap wima 0.01uFs from koba. and the tweeter capacitor, Solens, with wimas 0.001uF.

The day after, Vic went to get Mundorf supreme capacitors, they are huge grenades and is suppose to replaces the black solens u see above. Best of all, they cost 40 dollars each! In a stereo sound system, thats 80 dollars for just capacitors. He has his doubts. I have mine, it's just amazing this famous and highly recommmended capacitor can really make a difference in ANY sound system. Here is how they look like.

Look the yellow capacitors on the left, the flat pack one is a size of a man's thumb. Can you imagine how big are these babies?

Now, compare it's shear size of it with the other of the components.

And of course! it sounded better than my crossover set I have. We tried playing cai qing, the cricket track. It sounded less rounded and full body on my set compared to his. With his, I can hear the low rough ruffles of her deep voice and shes like singing live infront of you. I am pretty impressed with it but do not have funds to purchase it yet.

However, the modification process doesn't stop here! Vic went to buy some vishays 0.01uF tolerance of 1% capacitor for both of us. I removed the wima bypass and filled in with this, and he bypassed his mundorf. Bother of our cross overs are burning in now. With hours of listening to it, we are quite happy with the results! It's a big difference the sound system now compared to 2 years ago! How NOOBS we are =P

ANyway! some interesting pictures to show "off". I made crepes, it's very nice and sweet! My mum made the batter, but i made it! It's much tastier than a pancake and goes with with tea! Very nice for an afternoon snack...

Also, I got pretty donuts from donut factory suntec, just 30 mins of queueing. Damn fast. Those people who has more timee and are sooo free, queue @ raffles please!

One nice place I went today is Muchy donuts @ katong. It taste different all together. I cannot say which is nicer. But i like the oreo flavour of muchy donut!!! :)

Also, went to fei fei won ton me, the new outlet and found bad english. Can you spot it? =P

Extra Curricular Activities

Has been rather lazy to log on blogger and write something. Well, just 2 sundays ago, WJ, JR and I went of a trip up to the casinos. A place where grandma love to hangout. SOmetimes u can see grand dad placing their life earnings in that place of hopes and dreams. To kids, that place is just a theme park, to us adults, it's more than that~... Poor people play TAI SAI OR ROULETTE, however the rich people will be able to play card games like carribean stud, etc...

Temperature constantly at 20 deg celscius, it's just like constant air condition, with occasional sputter and gust of wind to provide the extra wind chill shoikness. I love the cold and I have been sleeping in the aircon room since 4 years old. I NEED IT! 113 sgd for full package with buffet breakfast. it's so cheap I feel like going back every weekend, not for the casino, but the weather =)

We went on an off peak package, constituting sunday monday and a tuesday. Having reach that on a sunday afternoon on a super duper slow coach, about 6-7 hrs of journey, we decided to take it slow and go for the theme park the next day.

Monday morning, themepark day. The breakfast isn't all that impressive, what i like best is only the laksa chilli, which gives me spicy tingling sensation with spike of aroma bursting out of the ikan billis... BaGUS!

the day was so cloudy we didn't actually do the out door theme park. Worse still, many of the nice rides were down. Therefore we bought a 21 rm indoor theme park ticket and played our asses off at the bumper cars. In total we queued for the bumper cars 6 times, 3 mins / play and it was great fun! We had our enemies, little uncourteous rascals in the queue we identified, and we bump them~...

Moments before our 1st ride @ the bumper cars, we took the indoor "roller coaster". A minutes ride took us about 15 mins to queue. JR and I wanted to take front seat and we waited for the next coaster to come. Just when we were about to board the coaster, this middle eastern toddler ran from the rear of the queue line and jump into the front seat. Only then we felt owned by the kid. We can't possibly tell the kid to move to the rear. Blame it on our complacency. :(

Today, Vic was free! so nice of him to offer his help to install another amp in the car. I was in dire need of a dedicated amp for the sub woofer. Although I had the amp with me for almost 6 months, I don't know how to remove those hindering car seats. Vic, with his professional experience with zhnging car and this big collection of proper tools made everything easy. I was just amazed on how car seats can be taken out so easily!!

Especially the rear seat, no screws, just brute force, pulling the entire seat from the clips.

We even found 1dollar ten cents in the rear seat. I am sure thats from one of my passenger. Thanks for the TIPS =)

The amp i threw in is a 300 watter, My diamond D6 sub is able to tahan 600Watts.

The last time, running from just a single amp. I threw in only 182 Watts, that barely 1/3 of the rated power of the sub.

Even now it's just 1/2 of it!

With this relieve off my old amplifier, the fronts are getting 3X more juice and the rear 2X more juice. And the music is turning more lively now!

With a little more tuning, I am sure ill like the sound so much ill just live in the car next time.

finally 5 weeks of commuting to school is over!
It's the start of my holidays and i never pretty much relax even before the exam period..
stupid 2011 project which everyone thinks it doesn't deserve any effort(becuz the professors ANYHOW mark our papers, reports and projects) and gave many deserving students a bad grade.
For many, you probably check ya exams grade. I have not! But i shall do it tomorrow. Together with dearest. It's either happy day or a sad day after, so i guess it's better for us to check our grades at the end of the day. =P

It has been an intensive 4 months (March, April, May, June), Projects after exams after projects. Feel a lil useless, that nothing has been achieved. It's a little sad that we are in this guinea pig course and a grades are given so unprofessionally with underrated AUs. And I so hate it!!!

19th June, Prof Dan is coming back to SG dropping by @ brewerks for a booze... I guess many of us fellas will be dropping by to say a big bye and thank you for the guidance he has given us before he leaves for america and never to be seen again? = =~~~

24-26th June, Genting trip w/ WJ and JR... cool dudes going up the land of chills and money. Like oceans 13, we are gonna try out luck in a small way! BECAREFUL! *dream*

SICK!

Sunday! City duathlon...
I was my worse race ever.. The nite before, I had already felt the radiation creeping into me. But I didn't wanna disappoint my friend and participated in the race instead..
Running was pretty ok... Without a 10KM trial for 6 months? I could do it in 55 mins... Although thats slow compared to many others who HAD beed training. But I think it's pretty amazing for me to do so. Just by relying on my past cardiovascular buildup =). After that 10KM run, I totally lost it... The bike leg was excruciating, unable to do at least a 30km/h now. I reminisce those times I could easily cruise @ 35km/h. These legs of mine are old and untrained.. oh well!
And guess what... the last 5KM, I WALKED!! Never walked in such a race before, I could not believe it myself too.. Just that my mental threshold was breached and I can't do anything about it!
But well well, I finished it in the end.. doing a 3hr and 40+ mins... Not to bad for a busy guy who had not train in 6 months =)

My fren psychoed me to relay the triathlon with him, well, without thought, i said yes! Now i will have to train for that race coming!.. argh!!

Anyway.. Thing about this race is that, I WAS sick and i didn't listen to signs my body tried to tell me! The next day!
WHAM!! woke up 4am in the morning feeling hot sweaty and in pain!! It's more like I got struck by a hot iron in the face.

Monday, 1st time i saw a doc in awhile... She was nice, gave me all her strongest medicine and 2 days of rest. The process was terrible anyway, I never wanna get sick again! =

Didn't go to school for project work for 2 days, feeling real bad about it. especially for those who put effort in making the prototype!! Ill contribute as much as possible tomorrow! =)

Nothing much today! 2 quizes and went shopping for EID project parts... Ate the famous sungei road lor me, but it turn out to be a lil sub standard. I think because it's the evening and the ingredients are no longer fresh!!

Anyway, i miss playing tennis and frequent cycling... I am really gonna have more of it once all this EID crap is over!!

Day 3

Went to ang mo kio hub for the first time. Pretty nice place! and i bet it's crowded during sundays! Becuz there is free parking @ the HDBs just across the road!!! Well, i didn't take advantage of that. It's a nice place, with the famous citylink restaurant, new york new york. Can have some nice yummy burgers with colourful fabrics seats and top it with some self made candyfloss... =) THere were pretty unique shops there, like the jersey shop and one beside minitoons selling weird modern fashion stuffs. If you need some rest and tea break, can pop in the toast box or nearby chinese restaurant to rest your legs.. Nice sub urban mall...

Todays lesson was about composites and technopreneurship. Techno ended darn early.. like 2 hrs ahead of schedule... ahh those slack professors. =

Anyway, as i was walking pass N3 today, somebody just call out my name!~ And I don't know who she was.. Elaine she addressed herself as. And immediately it striked a chord. She was the one incharge of MAE advertising brochures for the coming semester. During the exams, she asked about my opinion on the entrepreneurship minor and asked if I can provide this quote and a picture on a brochure... Well, weeks after doing so, It's on the brochure already!! Thats efficiency man! Well, she left me a copy so I could keep it.

Going salsa with davis tmr!! Hope it's lotsa fun! 6 weeks to gain ground to catch up with her.

Just got back from a cycling session w/ WJ...
Had the famous beef noodles @ the hawker there.. Soup is yummy, beef is tender, bean sprouts a lil crunchy! But the bad thing is that you have to queue up for about 20 mins? Not bad still... The uncle spent effort beautifying every bowl and he was meticulous how long the meat is blanched, giving it the soft tenderising texture...! YUMMY! =)

Morning, I decided to give pretty a spa! The car was washed thoroughly, after, I applied 2 coats of sealant inorder to remove all the stubborn water marks, and finally complete it with a fusso teflon wax that will aid the beading effort of water on the car surface.
I spent 5 hours doing it and 5 horse power of myself to do so.. It was a tough labourous job but the results IS satisfying!! =)

Just rented Cars from video EZY, Suppose to catch this movie with badtz! but I didn't due to busy days in school!! = It's a good movie and i don't wanna miss it!! =)

Prior after having the 26 inch lCD TV in the room, my dad added an XBOX 360.. Saying I could play tennis everyday even if it rains outside... HAHAHA! =) well.. I haven do so.. Will be playing cars on it soon! =)

Shes in Hokkaido now, day 1... feeling a little of a miss.. =

it was months before i realised that someone.
only recents widens roads and depth of an action.
phantom, being the palate of the night was a wonderful night to start with.
although not the most attractive of seatings, but the collective atmosphere that facilitates.
it is a night to remember as much told has been said.
an initiative., a tough decision and a new beginning.
these captions every part of the reality.
although just as it seems that a trip may dampen.
i am so thankful for you and your very prescence.

exams ARE OVER!

Had been 2 days since and till now i am VERY satisfied how it was spent...

Have to really put mindsets of those badly done papers away.. This sem is really tough, and it's probably the first time I nearly teared in an exam... I just pray i wouldn't have to take the same subjects over again, however for now ill have to keep my textbooks just in case~

Well well, last paper was a rubbish paper.. totally singapore biased.. Kudos to those foreigners that took it..

It was a final year paper... AE4007 titled Engineers and society. The module title is deceiving!!

Actually in the module, there is alot of propaganda in it... not only that, one have to be singaporean inorder to know the facts or at least be interested in it...

For example... One question states..

How many national anthems did singapore have?

OMG, I BET many people were unsure of the answer and chose either 2 or 3...

See how locally biase this paper is?

It was totally like a GP paper.. writing as much knowledge about singapore and the world, as one can...

The inviliator on the microphone was hilarious... saying everything in redundance. THose who were present understands =P

5pm!! PUT DOWN YOUR PENS... and it was finally over...

it was torturous having nonstop projects reports and exams back to back!... For many of us, we were pretty sick and drained... It's amazing how much we achieve this semester, and it has been so long since we had a break... although on paper it's 19AUs, i pretty much felt it as a 27 AUs sem... Having to come school every weekend since 2- months ago. = ok.. i should stop complaining... later i get blackmarked and the prof pull down my grades ill be dead... YOU RAWK PROFF! we love all the projects you given us! and we are damn appreciative! thanks!

5pm!! hell broke loose... went back to hall and pack up within an hour! vios was loaded with clothes, electrical equipment and etc... 6.30pm we left for town and it was a wonderful feeling!

Sun with moon, a restaurant recommended by xp and adeline, who said... that place.. not so expensive lah! yeah rite.. it is!! well the only g00d thing is that green tea was on the house..

food is good, atmosphere is great, and waitress is spectular!! A**ko Chan is a jap waitress who is friendly and soft spoken with cute actions... All of us thought so..! Best of all, mic and I gotten a chance to take a picture with her =)

Anyway, it was pretty much a great night except I was grilled by almost everyone there..

They make me feel terrible...!! Much revealed and said.. so don't ask me anymore...

After sun with moon, a walk down the bustling nightlife in clarkquay swayed us to brewerks. All becuz of meee =P For the first time, we tried the fruitz beer, and it taste horrendous! India Ale was fantastic... love it =) Mic was pretty attention grabbing to the aussies down there; he was wearing a australian rugby jersey. Nice fun people they were!! Ended the night early around 12.30.. =)

That nite, dad surprised me with a new 26 inch LCD tv in my room! It was a great big present and for all the things he gave me, he rawks!! I love dad =) Anyway it look so big, and out of place in my small room.. =

SSSSssssaturday was even better... =) =)

nothing much...
vinny fast vios was waterlogged.. taking everything out off the boot even the beautiful sub woofer to sun... did i just say sun? THERE IS NO SUN TODAY!.. more like to air... the car didn't have it's timely servicing, becuz of a mugger owner.. and it has been a month.. those taking my car takes the risk of helping me push it! HEHEHEEH!..

anyway it was rather eventful today, we(kianping, zhaoling, claire and yanwei) sent our prof off... it was a last min decision to go.. seeing so many things to read still for the exams on monday.. But what the heck. He has treat us so well that i think he deserve my 3 hours! I wish him well on his future endeavours, or when he becomes and astronaut, he will remember us...

Other than that, another important event is Joanne's bday~ well, I didn't go.. didn't have the time to. It pretty much came by surprise that michael didn't go, after trying to psycho me in the morning.. bleah.. anyway happy 21st!... there is something about ur bf that mic wanna say!
HAHAHAHAH!... =P

yes.. u r right.. i am bored of studying, thats why i am typing crap stuff of my life here.. more interesting articles next time. WITH PICTURES... Till those who finished their exams.. pls enjoy ur holidays in peace and not taunt people with a week more ahead!

Just gonna be a week more before the whole damn thing ends... YES DAMN EXAMS...
next monday will be a 4AU paper followed by 2 3AUS on thurs and friday....
Until then, shackles on to the table and with a mouth of gold when cheap talk is concern...
1st may will be michaels bday again..

It's a pity that some of us are still having exams.. *looks around* NO! it's a pity that only ME and prob nick out of the vexmans are having papers....

Celebrating his belated on the 4th of may!!! ely, pls get stuffs and arrange dinner for this bday boy...

However i think only Vexmns will be there... because adeline has gone hongkong (I WANNA GO!!!) .. so sad..! Haven seen her lately except for the beer session and seeing her @ the sun a month ago.. Thanks man!!

Hopefully planning a trip with aerogang and have frequent MJ session then... Afterall we r in the same EID team.. can take turns to cover assess.. probably bring MJ table to labs =P good idea??

Well, after exams i hope some things can materialise, like a hk trip and spideyman!~~ =)))
Other than that.. 20th may will be the all important event again.. But this time oakley will organise it... Duathlon!!

Had been running recently trying to gain back past form... thou I think I will not be able to get high placings now.. I will still try my best to be with the fit =X *dreaming lah!*

DND will be high on my list too! Try to find a place to have meetings in town... and all of that.. may be a few BBQ sessions for DNDers =)... It will be a fun time ahead! just this 1 week to endure...

for now... back to thermodynamics.. =)

A long while of absence

oh man! i never knew i will resort to touching this blog again!
But i have to! I HAVE TO!.. I HAVE TO VENT...
It's the time for exams now, and it never been so stressful... It's a period unlike others I never felt before. Like not studying could even be a choice now. I can't believe I have this lax attitude towards exams. I think most probably I will still study, due to high pressure "cooker" environment. It's either you move on, or get eaten... It's like the turtle head/legs analogy if some of you had remembered.

Anyway, I am going to participate in the duathlon event again... Instead of New balance, Oakley is organising this time round. It's rather unusual to have an eye wear speciallist being the main sponsor of a sport. Imagine how many pairs of sunnies they have to sell!!

gawd darn freakin bored nowadayz...

i rather be better off studying... some of the dudez doing races in aussie... some left for cycling

trips to mersing which i can't go due to the darn tennis schedule!!

I can't believe being so bored is so stressful!

Every night ill spent some time burning fuel in the small streets... but it now become less of a thrill as i am doing it too often~

At least I was suppose to play tennis with old tennis khaki joreen, but it turn out eventless as shes down having fever~ =(

Spent the day reading electron tube articles, car mags, even memorise every sentense in the straits times... SO SO DAMN BORED, until i sign up for video ezy only just... 50 bux credit.. and rented some videos...

It's sure great to be a lady, becuz today is a tuesdays and THEY GET FREE RENTAL!! WTH!~

not too shabby, students get to rent for 3.50 sgd on thursday =)..

I got myself some movies i missed and wanted to watch!~~

Yesterday, I was suppose to test out those new wheels!~~ but due to the uncertainty of a heavy downpour, I shelled the idea~~! Went out searching at sim lim tower for a replacement sony LCD adapter... Quite surprising, they sold the exact same model!! but it didn't come cheap!~~

43 dollars and no bargaining!~ for a few pieces of electrical components...~

Intentions on fixing the spoilt adapter faded as I wasn't able to pry the damn cover open... sony and their proprietry stuff~~ roarr~~

This morning, I was greeted by the amazingly clear skies! The sun was like a diamond in the sky, bright with diffraction sprites... skies perfect blue shade which was mesmerising!~~ Rolling out my bike and did my checks and off I go~~... so excited as always, I sped from traffic light to traffic light getting out of breath everytime I do..

Hitting nicoll drive, alot of tri kids were training! and they are pretty serious about their work... while many others hit macdonalds this early morning, or shopping centres doing their so called "exercise", they are speeding down the 7.5 km stretch training for their next race... Very admirable trait~~

To any seasoned cyclist, it's obvious that if you travel the same way as the plane is taking off, you are cycling into headwind! Planes requires lots of lift during take off, and by flying into a headwind, they are able to get more lift for the same amount of thrust...

It's either the new wheels or my bad fitness, I wasn't able to push pass 32km/h in headwind conditions.. I felt almost like a snail seeing motorcars and lorries whizz pass...

Coming back wasn't so bad, tail wind pushes me forward at a constant 36km/h and it was a good mild adrenaline rush!!

These days, I see more and more bikes fitted with those deep dish wheels... Singaporeans are just getting wealthier and wealthier~~ Just passing ECP today, almost 30% of the bikes are fitted with the zipps 404s... it retails at a eye popping price, 2.45 grand... No wonder most the bike shops are smiling away these days... No complains about bad business and our cycling community grows!

Decided to clean the bike's headset today... and it was my first time doing so... All i did was just to unscrew all screws that can be seen on the handlebar and wala! got out 2 grimey bearings and bearing binder... they r so yucky and stuck full of black grime I barely wanted to touch them~~ and worse of all, the grime stinks!!! After some mama lemon cleaning, replaced it back with some castrol grease... Havent test ride yet since... Hope it's steers buttery smooth :)

Nowadays, cycling is filled with new technologies incorporated with aerospace materials and testing... Wind tunnels are used to test aerodynamic efficiency of wheels and bike frames... Manufacturer wants to make material lighter, where to find material light and strong enough to endure long hours of bashing by the cycling... aerospace materials are being used... tentatively, a/c aluminium, and carbon fibre reinforced deposits are used in many new bikes... I only I have the funds!~~ life will be soo intruiging! =)

Had been wanting those deep dish wheels for awhile... standing at 50mm deep, the cosmic carbone SSC carbon was a substitute to what I wanted...
Zipps 404s are too expensive too afford...
Instead of buying a mercedes, I am getting a Lexus.. not too bad too huh =)

Deep profile wheels provides aerodynamic stability... It provides a greater momentum and streamline... less vortices generated at the spoke tips...

Other than that, it looks great!! coolness is all what deep profile wheels are about... who cares about how well they perform... It's still up to the cyclist to maintain his standard of speed and agility... Anyway, I wouldn't be able to use those wheels until sunday... Thanks to choonwei who offers to help me take out the 9speed cassette from my old wheels... The new wheels looks majestic, and that really make the old wheels look like CRAP!!
oh so beautiful!! carbon woven dish with yellow cosmic emblems... They are the greatest things I ever own! love them!! and I will ride in pride in those new shoes of mine =)

Melted cheese sticks firmly to the beef patty, every bite just help blend the cheese with the beef patty along wth the plainess of the toast buns, it's a perfect combination... I never knew a burger can be so deadly before! so next time if you got a chance to try brewerks burgers, pleae do!! They are fabulous!
It's a pity prof dan is leaving us for work back in america. He is probably the reason why we aerospace students love aerospace itself~ I guess without his prescense things will be a little less interesting from now on. A caucasian lady called Roxanna(speciallise in CFD and rotational dynamics) is supposed to replace him..

I haven really been to town walking, as though I have many hours on my hands... Today feel quite special, there wasn't much of a rush as I ordered a bowl of sungei laksa and popiahs...

Told the auntie today not to put any cockles in and she forgotten to do so... I would be furious if it happened during the exam period because time was so precious... but I wasn't.. She apologetically make another bowl for me while I am giving an expression tell her it doesn't really matter..

After lunch, and a short stroll to my used to be 2nd home... The Sim Lims~~ During my polytechnic days, we have to come to SimLim and purchase components like Diodes, BJT n FET Transisters for our projects... And I am so glad not doing it anymore... But being there on a weekday is just so nostagic...

Immediately, I hit the Car Hifi store and took a view of some sub woofers. Having a budget of roughly 300 bucks, I would really wanna spice up my in car audio~~!! Having to balance price/value to performance, it will either be changing my subwoofer or my head unit... One of a uncles in a shop spent some time explaining what he has to offer and show me the "good stuff" he got... I was pretty impressed he had the Diamond component speakers... I had a thought last time to convert my sound system to completely a single brand.. Diamond Audio... This US company have so much to offer at a reasonable price... Components were price attractively at 199 sgd and the uncle was so kind we had a good chat... But there wasn't an exchange of money *phewww* only after, I will know it's impulse buying... back to do more research work!!

With the change in point system scheme, it seemed that everyone in hall take a laid back approach in joining activites... Asking people to play IHG is really hard now! It's rather a chore than fun... playing isn't really, but the constant persuasion is... Hall games are usually planned to play during the holidays and many people wouldn't like the idea of coming back for training and play games for the hall as much as if it's held during school days. Well~~ I have a pool of potentials right now and I am quite glad I have support of an ex hall tennis player!! I think ill pretty much enjoy tomorrow rally session.. =)

First, Woke up the day with a sore neck,
went to school with a cup of tea and with a bao... SPILT THE TEA ALL OVER MY BOOKS..
I knew the day was going to be bad...

On top of that it was exam day...
Mathes 3.. a paper i was prepared for, but with almost the slight agitation that my day started, things went horribly wrong!!

For all the questions in the paper, it seem more like any other year's paper where just application was key. It wasn't my day and I had alot alot of carelessness placed into the paper.
The paper seem so wordy for a start, and lost of focus really drive me to the wall... Elements like insufficient lighting and birds flying past the huge glass window on my right was more than just distraction on a bad day like this...

Too little too late, I think I lost a good chance to get a 4.5... it will take garguantan of luck for the professors to be lenient, because they never care!

Just hope to write abt how sore I feel after this paper... and this shows how much a sore loser I am...

just months after i got my nano~~ it seems it have the battery drain problem..
Just today, 1/2 a day of play made it flat!.. just a month ago, it was able to last 2 days!
It's quite amazing how this piece of hardware deteriorate like keeping perishibles!
Worse still! my nano is green~~ thinking it's some leafy vege!
The pod is useless without softwares... Had been really grilling the web for nice musics. Recent additions like robbie williams'a rudebox, jojo, mcfly, augustana, fray, killers, scissor sisters, n etc..

- This song is a brief writeup on robbie's life in the 90s. From how he spent his useless days in the early 90's till what he is now... It's amazing how he summarised everything into a song!

The 80s is quite nice too~ but it wasn't the days he turned famous, therefore not as appealing..

- This song has a cheery upbeat melody, somehow reminds me of the cadbury song, when they song the uuuooohhh~~~... The use of lyrics by mcfly in their pieces are quite cheeky~ They songs are more descriptive than others, and very very easy to understand! Went shell to pump petrol today, and was intending to get one of the ferrari cars by matchbox!
Was thinking of adding vpower which entitles me to get the car for 2.95 instead of 4.95 on normal petrol... But dad refuses getting vpower... But still i got my ferrari!! F430 i chose..
I thought it has a nice sleek design, not to bulky and have it's tameness and posses a sight of great aerodynamics...
it's just a toy... but i appreciate the designs that come to it...

just finished 2 fluids papers today... this yr i had adopted a strategy to skip simple questions in the papers.. well i guess not much really... except for mathes papers which many of the questions are repeatitive actually...

Studying at home probably has it's benefits like, daddy buying food back, save money on breakfast n meals... enhance my allowance capability... but down sides are the missing of my company... well at least both of them... sharon n jing ru... jing ru's eye twitch and sharons whining are much missed... well at least i think the latter won't require any of our company...
happy for her that she had found someone that appreciates her at the same time, Feel the inevitable lost of a good fren, as time winds... It will probably dissolve into a neutral frenship... Still, looking out after her will be a fren's responsibility...

Just completed a hearty run to VJ wall and back home.. will do more runs as days progresses... After a ironman fren just said he completed 32km with an iron girl.... WTH!! My fats are dense at it's bottom and requires some agitation now!!!... run was good, PSI was under 50.. fresh air... and running down the well lit park connector reminded me it's a friday... with lots of people strolling around at late hours...
The days to come are better i guess... =]

10 days or less to my first paper..
sounds scary, and I haven't even tried the exam papers or even cleared some of other subject's tutorials...
It sucks to be behind time... It's like behind everyone else in a race... This all due to the tight schedule ntu put in place... I don't know what they are doing, if you want students to learn right. Please give them more time to absorb..
We aint' walking sponges... We are like u, dear professors... IQ of 200 don't get u anywhere unless u have time...
I guess we all ain't have time to study everything!! Just gotta study which weighs the heaviest...

Anyway, just seeing alot more rude people around... They tried to change me! No more rudeness... I try...

grand pa is in a critical state of condition, at his age and the diesease, I feel so sorry for him...
Grand pa is a very intelligent person, active as well.. He always love to go for outdoor walks when he took care of me... read the papers every morning without fail... He use to cook teochew porridge for me and I am really greatful for what he has done~ I thought, If there is something that I could do for him, is to give up myself in return for his g00d health and give him g00d education... i love you...

Tuesday's ENR training was mere biceps and deltoids training...
I was only able to hold 1-2 mugs of ale... unlike the uncles, could probably do at least 5!
Charity spirit was really observed! Upon payment, we got a goodie bag with a power bar and a powergel... YUM!
Of course, thats not dinner!
We were all given a neon band, for the food transitions...
It was a buffet spread with nicely mashed potatoes, tasteful chicken and chilli sausages, ribs and BBQ chicken... accompanied with fresh greens.
Only one serving and a mug makes us pretty much done. BURP!!!
Best part of the charity was the auction... Eye candy to see bikes like the carbon soloist and P3C with HED trispoke.
In layman, these bikes are raced by top athletes and cost > 10k...
I would love to get my hands on them!
Although having the opportunity and chance to bid by waving my flag number(29), I didn't. I probably have to work at a gay bar for months before I can pay the debt off!

The event was little much less of spectacular. Having a chance to see uncles and trigeeks in Shirts and pants is really an eye opener. Well, you normally see them in jerseys and tights, or one piece trisuit. omG! COOl STUUF!
Wednesday, I decided to clear some mess left by me 7 years ago... Here is what I found!

Well it seems that 1st choice was valid then because I thought handling a revolver was cool!
Until you get into army, you carried rifles and pistols until you SIEN!!! ok~ 1st choice was condemned..
2nd choice I am probably there? Diploma in multimedia infocomm tech... well~~ I think ill probably can decided that as a career too?
No bull man~ but 3rd choice is what I really want.. After the disappointed in Youth flying club, I really wanna make up for it.

Thursday, I am not really patient with slow computers... And I disliked when much of the time, my hard disk drive in my laptop is buzzing for data to be crunched. Every second of noise emited causes agitation.
After doing some research online, I set my sights on seagate's momentus.. 5400.3, cheap and good drive that comes with a 5 yrs warranty and 3 yrs 1-1 exchange!
Not only that! 5400.3 comes with the latest PMR (parallel recording feature)...
5400.2 doesn't! becareful if you buy!

What more can you ask for!!
It's now in my laptop running fast and fine! =)

found it rather interesting it has alot of copper and alu sinks on the GPU and chipsets!

BACK FROM A LONG LONG NO BLOGGING STAGE!

Hey handsomes and pretties, i have not been post anything for quite sometime!
I am officially out of job! Thats why i can do this a monday afternoon!

I said I was going to post something of the tahan trip, and lots more! Well, it's abit of a history now. Main highlight was that we the group of 14 was hit by lightning on high ground... 2000+ metres... The feeling was sensational and never felt before. Numbness tensed into every single nerves immobilising the limbs. Our dear Ismail got the greatest of god's "blessing"; his heartbeat stopped. He was lucky to have zhenghan, hailed at the"saviour". Zhenghan did his first actual CPR on ismail and thank god it worked!
The things you are reading here are real life accounts... I am sure some of you will find this a joke or amusing... But at that point of time, it wasn't.

Other interesting events was:

Heavy river currents(nearly swept me away)
Lots of leeches

wow experience sia... ill give it 5 out of 5 if you want to have an adventure of a lifetime... Everyday, you will have something "interesting" to look forward to!
Untouched beauty, this place is fascinating scenic. And you get to see something new everyday!!

Pace of life at our destination(after 7 days), Kuala tahan is slow (DAMN SLOW)... Meals takes ages to prepare, everything around just kicks down a gear and I love this stress busting feeling. We stayed overnight at this kampong hut made out of simple materials(zinc, wood, false walls) and a little bit of cement, it's a wonderful experience. Looking out the window gives you a great view of the river which once flow as rapids, upstream and highlands surrounds it's malaysia at it's best.

Don't be put off by my lightning experience, gunung tahan gives a great mountain climbing experience, i recommend yall to try it(may be the 4 days itenary)...

This line is for the appreciation of people who saved me life and their enjoyable crappiness through the 7 days of no hardship. Thank you! =) to 15 great people including 2 guides... *SALUTE*

Desaru half ironman is something very interesting! (ill probably die in the swim stage, HEHEHE) I ain't a fish, need to train hard! Mizuno wave run is happening this coming sunday... had 2 weeks to train. At the current physical condition, I am pretty happy with the tight schedule so far! All thanks to the motivational uncles and younger ones in TriFam. I look up to them for training discipline.

Met my army pals some days ago, buddy marcus actually remembered our honeymoon to europe! I am so glad he is starting studies soon! and that will give him student rebates in that continent. Planning a backpacking trip to the west after 2nd sem of year 2. Sad thing about the trip is, I will have to scrimp and save every dollars from now on. I want to have at least 10k SGD for the trip... hard earned! At least what is free now are travel guides. heh~ Came back from the library just hours ago with all these nice guides!... Will burnt and memorize every important detail and generate a trip itenary for about 1.5 months... yay~~!

Desaru leg disabling ride...

157.5 km... near ironman distance under 39 degrees of hot swelting sun!
my feet felt the charcoal. tell ya more abt it soon!

sore legs... The stairs at home seems pretty hard to climb. I am recovering from a dead leg and a numb groin area. Spending 5 hours sitting on a leather wrapped wedge with legs pedalling in a circular motion was the cause! Words cannot describe the near death experience yesterday.
It's like... although all of your body parts except the legs were willing to work.
5.55a.m. on a saturday morning. I wake up to have a quick prata at a nearby 24 coffee house.
It was a pleasant day to do ANYTHING!
We set of 7.30a.m. on a bum boat, 10 of us from ENR with full enthusiasm on this imprompt trip to the peninsular.
Sea currents wasn't in our favour; the boat ride took us an hr plus.

Cycling up towards desaru was nothing else but scenic. A great breakaway of our sterilize concrete community. Zinc houses, palm plantations, children zooming up and down the roads in their modified motorbikes... And it's this period of time you feel close to an environment so slow that nothing else in life matters.
Going up north was pretty comfortable, ride wise. Some of us was cranking fast, pedaling so fast we never thought of consequences. Tail winds was something we had, we were travelling at a constant speed of about 38 km/h. It was pretty miraculous and we didn't really think why. Sub-consciously, we know it was the tailwinds that was helping us. But we didn't care.

We spammed the like there was no tomorrow, soon finding ourselves passing the 1st round about(desaru), and the 2nd round about, that leads us to Tanjung Balau.
While, many of us have decided to turn around at 75 kilometre mark, few of us did not.
Knowing that we were low on fluids, we moved on 10 km farther where there is a half way house in a small town named sedilli.
That is a place too far for us, and it was the stop that had caused the "disaster".
After taking a break of about 45 mins(tooLONG!!), we turned ourselves and head back to the jetty. And, in the direction we are heading, we were having super strong headwinds. It was quite impossible to hit 30km/h, besides it was noon, and the temperature was 39 deg C. Yes, deadly!
Then we knew it was impossible for us to reach the jetty by 4p.m.
It was pretty much the worse part of the journey. The ride was too slow for excitement, and the sun just makes it worse. Every 10 mins, I will have to reach out for my bottle for hydration. Losing water like squeezing a sponge!
Anyway, we hit Sg, Rengit town with a total distance of 157.5km before taking a taxi to the ferry terminal about 20km away; just in time for out 4pm bum boat ride! =)

I had problems with my bike rack yesterday, and i stepped down the car 3 times just to adjust on my way to changi ferry terminal. I nearly killed a motorcyclist when I open the door in the middle of the road!
SORRY! Just today, after my complaining to dad, he got me a new rack! Wonder dad =) The rack called Saris bone 2, and it's very very sturdy! And the best is, it looks very cute and curvy! I love it!

ENR means Eastern Night Rider...
It's a training part of Trifam. These people love life... Pushing themselve to limits which some people feel unbearable. Beyond threshold... And these people are ones i look upon.

Last night, it happened to be the poorest of attendance, only 7 people turn up for training. Blessing though to have the faster people not around. It's like taking a day off...

Still the pace is hot and slightly unbearable. We did flats, averaging 37km/h. Drafting trucks brought us to 41-42km/h and head wind brought us down to 35-36km/h.
After 50 mins of high intensity of thigh wacking brutality, we covered 2 sets of coastals, a total of 30+ km... There was still a great sense of achievement.

To top that off as the icing on the cake, a 30 mins medium intensity run was put through it's paces from bedok jetty carpark to VJC. Heart rate was 180... The feeling was good, nice pace, plenty of cool wind which makes striding pretty effortless. Running pass all the "hai sien lo" really makes me wanna stop to have some food!

We ended the day by chilling at scruffy murphy."phew, hungry la" Normally we will just park our bikes on the side wall parallel to the coastline. This time round, a new comer indian waiter refused the norm. Infact, the group are regulars of the place, and such a treatment seems pretty unbearable. His tone in refusing was totally unacceptable. Our friend nearly picked up a fight with the waiter, and I can see why. His bike cost him 5 grand, and he was very much concerned about it's security.

Just had short walk back from my neighbourhood coffeeshop, open up my mailbox... Ruffling through the mails that will seldom be mine. Although I am still anticipating the birkenstock which I ordered a week ago, I know it will not arrive so soon.
A closer examination of the letters brought me an unexpected surprise! I found a postcard addressed to me!!! I felt this uneasiness with chinese characters stamped (航空 par avion). Apparently, have never received a postcard from China. At the instance, I flushed known possibilities of identifying who the sender is, who can only be one!
Cheryl! My entrepreneurship "buddy"!! Orite! SHOCK AH!! really! SHOCK! Miss the ol times! Hope you are having great times in China and come back with a chinky accent! aww! Thanks for the postcard if you are reading this! I believed you have visited all the places in the picture. They are magnificent!

Back track abit... Days ago, I went to a petrol kiosk at east coast and found something very interesting! There is actually a doggy bakery here! Dog in singapore are really fortunate! Especially if it's lucky enough to find itself a rich home.

I think ill get flamed for this. I feel due to the "slower pace of life in the east(ESP east coast)" compared to anyother region of singapore, people here are generally nicer and a little bit more friendly! Service in many places in the east is quite good I feel! People talk, communicate starting with a good morning, and end with a thank you even you have little interest in buying their products.

Bottom left! Some of you might know where this place is. It's some place in Singapore orite! Bukit Timah! Yes, Beautiful granite hill! Isn't she beautiful! Sad to say, there is only a couple of such tall granite hills around here!

This place is quite magical, especially when you are with somebody you like. I was extremely fortunate to be there with a "special" friend. Albeit the moment was short, the feeling is just surreal.

Through the small opening that leads you into the magical land, it just seems so fairytale like. People get dwarved by the awesome beauty of mother nature. =))

I like the 2nd half of the year, it's filled with competitive raced! To name some, osim tri, milk run, ahm, mizuno wave, nike real, NB run and the finale, Stand chart full marathon!
Imagine each run is a progressive build up for the next. Singapore sports council never have planned it better! This year, just for a change, I WILL do all the runs! Earliest charity run is the "milk run". It clashes with the internation event, the osim triathlon. Osim tri will be entertaining to watch.

Professional from all over the world made this singapore stop a much covetted one. Singapore triathlon can be seen one of the easiest incomparison with it's neighouring counterparts, because the only place you can hold it is East coast park, which only have flats~ No hills to play mind games with you, and little skill required for negotiation. The race will eventually boils down to who has the bull strength to complete.

Oh dear, I think i am boring non exercise freaks, ya man! GSS(great singapore sale) is around the corner. Shopping will be an addiction in times to come. Or infact, PRE GSS sale has begun. Many places in town have slash their prices, calling it a clearing of season sale. If there is time to save money, it isn't now!! I am a victim of the GSS onslaught. I love a big bank book, but ultimately can't resist the temptation with the help of a devil's persuasion! You know who you are! You made me spend almost 200 on a pair of jeans! LIVE SI NORAHS! <-- da vinci style! Yes, speaking behalf of the devil, I urge all of you to go shop while there is still size for you! Sales are often oxymorons, they can mean good and bad! Good is only it have your size, bad when the sales assistant say "sorry, outta stock". In turn, you will find substitutes that who wouldn't want to own in the first place!

I have something about flowers recently. Not that I will love being a gardener, I like sun flowersThose big big yellow blossoms, the size of a palm! Through experience, It's actually quite hard to find fresh sun flowers from your florist nearby. One way is either you grow it yourself from good seeds, or ask your florist to specially bring in some for you. Hey don't mistaken a guy's liking for flowers as gaynesS! My "namely" clone hundreds of years ago probably love sunflowers too! Hmm, i probably like cactus as well! =X

As yall know! The car has hit it's commemorative distance! And to show my love for it, I had bought it a lovely Carbon Charger. It is said to improve the low end torque of the engine. Some test runs at night had shown that the Charger works!! It produces a lovely growl when the engine is revved moderately!

Cycling
It has been awhile since the enduring experience of cycling in peninsular malaysia. Heavy headwinds, hot weather and bad roads made the experience extremely challenging! Best part is when you can keep up with the ang mohs! Anyway their bikes are super beefy, probably $10k of high quality parts! So if you can keep up with them in you $1k bike, kudos to ya!
Tahan
Yay!! To replace to cancelled getaway to thailand, Tahan was the next best alternative! I just received confirmation that I will be able to join NTU ODAC on this exciting journey! This will probably set my pace for my endurance training. I will need to have a shift of focus; instead of running long D with fuel belts, ill have to do it with ankle weights and bagpacks. On this mountain climbing adventure, it's still my very first. I wish to learn alot from this, especially from the people who are organising the trip. happpy!

Life after exams is pretty exciting. I love the 2nd semester's holidays.. Unlike the first, I was in school trying to complete my minor! AWWW!! Try to live as much now, before you find it too late to achieve anything!! Soon it will be the 2nd year, and a short time before we graduate. =) so happy to be alive ya?

For me, exams are just over... Just aced a paper today~ Felt good! It's the only paper this sem I am confident of~

I will like to CURSE 2 tutors who set mathes 2 and physics 1 for the 2nd sem 2006! blOODY papers don't even test the average understanding for the course requirement... So what if you are trying to impress your head of department you can set BLOODY IMPOSSIBLE TO DO PAPERS!... you might not even be able to do it yourself i bet! YOU NEED HELP AND I KNOW A PLACE IN HOUGANG YOU WILL LOVE TO BE... *chill*

This sem exams are tough... and I don't see it will get easier the coming year... Most of us will probably change to coffee as permanent beverage. Night seems as long as day, skipping meals just to cover a few more chapters... Or worse, get our hands on nicotines! dirrrtty!

Handed my room keys to the hostel officer today... Cleared all my stuff in a room.. and it's amazing how "BIG" a toyota vios is... I am amaze of the capacity... It took me 3 hrs to fill the car! I cannot imagine all my stuff in a swift!! HAHAHA!

Anyway elections are coming... the party are making days feel better by giving money on a holiday.. like a double bonus... especially when eligible voters are university students... Exams over, holidays and money... what nice turn of events!~~

While I was complaining about not utilising the canon ixus55 because I had used the memory card for the car audio system. My Dad down to get me a 1GB sd card. Now, back on my lust for happy snapping! Right infront of me are the love of my life! Sound systems, I decided to take a few snaps of it!

I am a vacuum tube person. Recently I thought of changing the ideal to transistors. I might be working on an MOSFET amp when i grab hold of a good schematic with proven sound quality! Nice sunday to everyone...

Singapore Duathlon 2006

wee! The event is over... East coast park was a mess on this sunday morning.. The event was flagged off 8.30am this morning with the kids event. Our future talent pit themselves out in 2 events, cycling and running. Some of these kids were amazing, they probably inherited from the genes of their parents, being good running and cyclist is not always easy to achieve. In fact, many runners, can't cycle fast, cyclist can't run fast.
On this day, alot os farmiliar faces surfaced. I saw my sispec sarge. It seems his battalion is being forced on this lazy sunday to compete in this event. I can see their reluctance, but when you are in army, you have to listen to your boss. 9.15.am, I completed my quick warmup and further bumped into a few friends at the briefing point. As usual, these people are energetic and had done so many tris, bis and dua before me! I have my hats off for these people.
The horned sounded promptly at 9.30. Everyone wanted a good position and try to fill every space in front. It's the hot zone, where you see serious faces in contrast to the people at the rear, chatting and doing laces at the final hour. I was sandwiched somewhere in the middle. I think it's a race which wears people out by time, by standing in front doesn't give you any additional benefit unless it's a sprint event. My first 10 kilos went smooth. Infact, too smooth for my liking. I was running 90% of my heart rate, 80% should be better. I came into the bike transition after 43 mins of running. Lost and unable to find my bike, I went one round other people's bike rack.
Losing 30-40 seconds in that confusion.
The wind was coming in all directions, and it's pretty hard to negotiate speed regulation on the bike leg. Lanes were cramp due to the amount of cyclist. The latter cause more accidents than usual. There were some horrible sight. Imagine crashing at 30+kmph into a rock! OUCH!!
Ang mos think they were very fast, shouting very rudely and scolding slower people in loud babaric manner. Yet I don't know why people still suck up to these suppose to be "higher class" people? Some people perceptions are terrible. I came back in an hour, giving my an average of 36kmph. Slipped my shoe on again, and began the final run. Just moving out of the transition area, I feel my legs weigh a tonne! With persuasion, it hardly moves. This time I know I am WASTED! I do not have enough fuel/food intake for the race. Infact, the last night I should be eating every hour to load on carbs. But I was so busy I missed my meals. This time I knew i will suffer. I ran a crawling pace. 5km in 30 mins. I see people just overtook me like no one's business. For every person, I just feel worse!
On the return leg, with cheers from the crowd and friends I decided to spent all the energy left and sprint to the finish line. It was a wonderful feeling completing the event. I did 2hr 11mins in total. Not that good, but aint that bad either!
My good friends(Vic and sharon) were doing the relay, kudos to them taking part in the event! Everyone today is a winner. It takes courage to join such an event. It's an equivalent to marathons. Kudos to all!

hello peeps!

Time for another bitch blog session. It has been awhile since a updated this section. My life...
Quite exciting... The days past so quick so many so vibrant...
Pictures are great illustrations and I shall use it. Timeline wise left to right, top to bottom.. The oldest pic will be on the topleft.. latest which is today. bottom right.

This has been the fourth year since I started road cycling. Pretty amazing, I have made nice friendships in the cycling community and on that day, we were going up to desaru for training. Some people ask my why do I have to look nice during a cycling session, I normally reply the professionalism and passion. In many countries, you see cyclist wear bright, proper gears like helmet and gloves. It's not practice this much here, but the trend is increasing.

Next 4 pictures are from my course launch 2006. Aerospace degree official launch on the 10th febuary 2006. The professors did a wonderful job by making it such a big success! Our Guest of Honour, Mr Chan Soon San, Ministry of State education and trade and industry came down to deliver his speech for the launch. Many of us skipped our lessons just to prepare for this event.
Just by looking at the turn out, it was worth the effort. Especially a chance to see rolls royce regional head and other aerospace-related delegates. Of course, not forgetting my wonderful company(charles, weiming,bernie, shenglee, leeza, sharry + many many more).

Mugging is no fun, but sushi mugging is an enjoyment! The day after we ended out physics 2 quiz. We went all our to gobble as much sushi our stomach can hold! You can feel jubilance flowing out of the picture right? Especially from our sweet leeza and sexy sheng lee!

The elmo belong to my good ol fren, wei kian... We we school mates since primary school. It's amazing how long our relationship can last! This time, he is in NUS doing a business course staying in Kent ridge. Kent ridge is just so condo like, it's a nice place to live in.. They have proximity cards and good security system. If I were to compare my NTU hall to his kent ridge, it's a squatter to HDB flat comparison. Tables there are so long, nice to throw textbook around and still have space for studying.

Next, a whiteboard! It's professor shaker's lab experiment on fuselage and all the necessary equations are on the board. It was a saturday, and supposed to be the end of the 1st term. All of us suppose to be enjoying the day, running around and having loads of fun.... but we were back in block N3, aero discovery lab to complete the labs we missed on the muslim and chinese new year. My group(weiling,yiguag, waiteng,yinyin) were so ready to finish our work and rush home! What a saturday!

Thir morning, I decided to spray my wheel caps to white! I am getting so sick of the flourescent red. I thought white should just blend in, being tame. I was quite wrong... White doesn't seem nice on the wheel. I think the wheel is so much nicer without a wheel cap. I am still digressing...
Somehow or another, I persuaded my dad to get me a DAB tuner for my hifi! My eyes were on denon TU1800. It was rated 5 stars by what hifi. I gave a ring to KEC, adelphi. The boss said, he sold 2 yesterday and he is sold out. I will have to wait till next tuesday. Rather disappointed I call up other authorised dealers. Because it was a sunday, many of the shops were closed. Until my final call, I got a shop in simlim that has the stock and is selling 11 dollars more.
I put on my bargaining outfit and went down, and buy it 10 dollars off his price! I am so good at bargaining I felt! After setting it up at home, I realise it wasn't able to receive any DAB channels.
I felt so depressed! Worse still, the digital output wasn't working.
I went back immediately, he did a test. It wasn't the fault of the machine, it was the problem with the model. It was suppose to be a system that is rated 5 stars by a reputable magazine!
The salesman suggested another brand. He was gonna carrot me for that! I knew it! I did my research of many DAB tuners and I know much of that brand too. I didn't choose that because I thought denon has made good tuner circuits. It turned out that reception of the other set is much better. The brand is Cambridge Audio, model azur640T. I knew my price and stood beside it. The salesman gave in! Yaye!!
Went back.. plug it in the system.. DAB scanning 24 channels! WEE!!
Conclusion!
Digital audio is just so amazing... Cambridge audio is a good buy! good SQ and reasonable..

Have a happy and cheery CNY!!

28th Jan, Saturday... A day chinese called chu xi...
It's a saturday, and for working adults, it's 1/2 a day to lose. Unexpected ON-Ness by my surrounding buddies, I have to kudos to weiming and charles to be able to make it for the morning exercise at ECP. Weiming lives in Jurong West and Charles in Bukit batok!... Of course, I must not discount the nice effort bernard took to ferry them for a nearby mrt. 8.30a.m., I started my bike leg along nicoll road. The ride toward CV was terrible! Fighting with the headwind gives me a miserable 30km/h. Still I have to make the effort to tuck into aerodyn position... Ride towards was slow and painful, until the return leg! I got tailwind... I felt darn fast! 40km/h const!

I sped back(lucky no park rangers around!) to macdonalds meeting the rest of the gang for a run. Charles and Ant decided to take the wheelers instead! Leaving 5(Passive WM, Amplifier Bernie , Sunny Leeza, Tiny Shary and Me) of us doing the leg work! We all completed the run to fort road and back to macs! Weehee!

Lunch Lunch! My recommendations was MEEPOK(jln tua gong) at siglap area. The usuals like waiting time, waiting for seats happened! But something unusual also happened! We even have it on softcopy, and we still don't know why! Bernie actually attempted to hug a lamp post! Please ask him why okay! WEIRD!!

I can see everyone wasn't very happy with the MEEPOK and it's due to the waiting time! and it's probably only 3/5 stars compared to it's competitors. On the way back, another very unusual thing happened! At a cross junction, as both drivers, me and bernie played a game of 2 handed scissors paper stone through the glass windows, bernie won 2-1 game during the traffic wait!! It was just hilarious! The BMW behind probably thought I was crazy making out scissors stone gestures to my mirror!

It was not to be that very day. 9.45 was my reporting time to work!... Canvessing for DND is getting into 3rd gear. DND in fact is a very interesting and integral part of the hall... and truth is alot of money is needed to be raised and spent. Since, a large amount requires to be raised, little thoughts are raised by the seniors when it comes to the welfare. And it seems that alot of us have little morale to carry on...

PNP seems more appropriate for the commitee name; pay and pay. I think more welfare culture has to be inbued, e.g. getting at least 10% earnings, funds waived. Looking at the insensible part of the whole is that, we are trying to raise funds and at the same time we are putting out money inside. Sounds like placing your own bet and winning your own money to treat your friends? Work culture can be improved by giving welfare, human beings will be willing to work, in return, more funds + happier people + bonded commitee. I don't really care if any DND people read this, I am just seeing it the way many people are, don't you think so?

This time it's coke light's canvessing, the overall experience will be illustrated below.
I was told to be LABOUR when I reached. I will probably understand why. =X We got our free pair of GenX shirt. If you don't know GenX is an events company. It started out slow, things were just all on trial in the morning. The target of this company is to issue 16000 coke light bottles. yes! 10 raise to the power of 4. in total, we have 22 people, 12 issuers, 10 labourers! Everyone was pretty enthusiastic at the start. The pace was upped at 1pm, went supply can't meet demand of distributing. It was pretty awful, place was in the mess, everyone was hurrying to meet the demand! 1/2 hour later, a distribution pattern shows, things gets efficient! I am quite impressed of everyone's speed and enthusiasm. I surely didn't see any lazy bums around! It was fun and tiring experience, especially knowing of my training with trifam the next day... It feels awful! LABOURER means, carrying cartons of cokes from the road side, pick and unwist bottles of coke. Every muscle in my limbs are worked that day...

Sunday! Cloudy skies at approx 5.30am... The night before, I had prepared my kit for training. It was one of the most exciting trip I will have. 100KM up Peninsular malaysia Desaru. 6.30a.m. I was at Changi Village, breakfast was wanton mee... It's probably the weirdest wanton mee I ever eatened. It has fishballs and mushrooms in it... HAHA, so complex!! 7.20a.m. We leave Changi Ferry Terminal with 12 eager bikes to Pengarang! We landed 1 hr later, our legs so itchy everyone prepared so quickly for the ride!! 17km ride to the start point to get our refills before the "race". Unofficial flag of was called and we were on out way! These people are crazy! Craig was leading the pack with a constant speed of approx 40km/h hammering!! Some of the big thighs were doing 36-37 flat!! Scrawny me was just able to keep up by drafting! Call me a cheat, but I am still not as strong!! The worse part of the trip is the upslopes, it's the time when you need a lower gear and you can't find it! the only thing you can hear are pants but yet you are just travelling a miserable 20 km/h. Going we faced headwinds, that makes it even tougher! Coming back the winds made our life easier, I can't believe there is a point I was cruising at 40 km/h, Top speed hits 54km/h... And that, I am very happy that Malaysia is probably the only place you can do this exciting thrill! Lunch was pretty high in carbo and electrolytes... Their order, not mine!! Legs worned, skin burnt but a very very fulfilling experience and i plan to go down often! Total amount spent 30+ SGD. Cheap day to spend!

Along the streets today with my good mates, I saw a special friend! It was probably the most unexpected thing that will probably happened but hell it did!! My effective comm lecturer Bee will probably give me an F for the conversation with her, even my friend thought so!! =(
ANyway, 20 hrs more to go to the Trifams next training! These people are good!! I love training with them!! I will try to beat the one with the disc ZIPP! YES!

Training time!
Finally! Rain clouds had cleared! Clear skies has been holding for the past 2 days! It will be a good start to a great work out! It's kinda unexpected but Singapore Duathlon is 1 month earlier than expected. 1 month 2 weeks of training wouldn't be enought to peak! Nonetheless, one must start somewhere! I am really glad this time 2 of my good friends in aero are going to finish this race with me! wee!! Got company when running and company when cycling! It's real fun!

For some of you who don't know what's duathlon about, it's like a triathlon without the swimming part!
This year's even is shorter, a 10KM run - 36KM cycle - 5km run. It will be held at East Coast park, unlike last year marina! Which I thought the latter was so much better, big wide lanes, no kids running around to slow your training progress down.

Just hours ago, I had completed my 30KM cycling training, I was a little disappointed by the timings. I average out at 31.5km/h. just 6 months back, I was doing 35km/h. See how slack and fat I am now, it's time to regain the loss form! It's great using the heart rate meter again...

Cycling at ECP,
Tip 1, headwind in the morning always comes from changi a/p, try to conserve energy by drafting a car or a front cyclist. Never push too hard against wind.
Tip 2, coming down towards city, it's time to put the pedal to the mettle, this stretch will be the power stretch to close the time gap.
Tip 3, Near bedok jetty, there is a gradual down slope that one can make use off!
Tip 4, Beware of roller bladers making U turns out of the nowhere! They are a bloody nuisance!

Below is my heart rate w/ respect to speed of bike.... DOn't laugh! It's slow!! Kinda good for a first training! =)

Anyway, just to let yall know, the upcoming cable ski park in east coast park is opening soon, it's doing some testing today! But it's really really expensive.
Prices are, Weekdays 30 bucks of an hr, Weekends 40 bucks an hr.
Batam cable ski park is 60 dollars for full day with lunch and ferry.

OLD HOBBY REVISITS
Recently I had been busy with a old hobby... DIY tube amps and speakers!
Hi-fidelity audio systems is my number one hobby!
I am no fan of transistors. No boasting, in fact, I find my 8 watt tube amp will beat a 100 watter solid state amp. Like in sports, audio is the same, power is nothing without control!
I love to go burlington sq, just beside simlim sq, to get my tubes. The auntie is very knowledgable and they sell tubes, capacitors, POTs, wires and speaker drivers reasonably!

Just yesterday, I planned to upgrade my dad's missions M782 for my own use! The Missions are great song birds, It has real hardwood construction, unlike compressed wood you find in most speakers and that makes it really HEAVY!!. I chose budget capacitors, Solens. I salvage some solens from my dad's spare Arcam speakers. Went down to burlington and got the rest of the components!

After an hr of reconstruction the cross overs in the speakers, it was time to reattched it to the speakers!
Every thing went fine!! Until I realised the midbass wasn't moOOVING!! Detached the mid bass, and used a 9 V to test. Yes, my mid bass is GONE! Spoiltt!!

Rushed down to burlington to see Dr. Auntie Audio! She told me it's a blown voice coil by transister amp! That's my dad's amp! It's a mean transister amp and it destroyed the speaker mid bass! Oh mY GOD! I hate transisters!! Repair cost is 90 dollars for 2 drivers and will be done next tuesday!! Tentatively, my speakers are without midbasses, if you wanna take a look how it looks like, please view the 2nd row 3rd picture!

HAPPY NEW YEAR EVERYONE!! I AM SORRY THESE CAME 7 DAYS LATE! BUT IT'S BETTER THAN NONE!
First week of school started! Wow, this semester is so much better... 1st Sem, there were difficulties of not knowing anybody in the class... Now in the 2nd semester, it's much better to have pals you see and greet, a homely feeling thats what everyone should feel in the aerospace cohort! Over the past week, alot of things happen!
1) Plan the STEWPIG NTU timetable.
2) Study and finish a project for Entrepreneurship minor.
3) Buy food stuffs for hall consumption.
4) Reacreation at NSRCC.
5) Sentosa outing.

NSRCC
Courses at NSRCC are quite nice, I must say. Not due to the playing ground, but the planes overhead! And at the Par 3 course, where Tom, Dick and Newbies will practice their ill placed shots in this simple course. Green fee is just 8 dollars during the weekdays and there is no buggy! WTH do you need a buggy in a par3 course.!? 8 dollars is really cheap if you have nothing better to do and want to improve on your short game. Not only the views of the course is fantastic, but the planes that are landing on our beloved soil(Changi Airport) is awesome too!
The planes fly so lowwww!! We can even smell the plane's latrine on the golf course!!

ROOM
Coming Chinese New Year, I had plan to do some tidying up of my messed up room! Want paint my wall sunshine yellow! Now it's light purple and blue.. YEEK! Oh and i need to buy myself a glass bookshelf for my growing collection of reading text!

ESKI BAR
Day after the new year! It was great! Some of our hall 5 mates were free! The hardest to get is Elayne( in the pic ), followed by Nicholas! JCRC had took 1/2 their souls away and it's so hard to go out with them! It's as if they have a schedule of a superstar!!!
It was Eski bar we went, after our failed attempt to find a seat in wala wala. Eski bar is boringly cold... Music was bad! It was those type of chill music(lush 99.5?) and... yuck! The only exciting part was the "FREEZER". We spent time going in n out the room like small kids in large bodies!

SAND-TOSA
Today... 10 aero mates were down at sentosa in bad weather playing beach volley... This is the 3rd time I play such a silly game! Inflicting pain on the hands trying to push the ball to the other courts!! Hey, why can't they invent a racquet for such a game!
Anyway, i guess much of the whining comes because of the quality of the ball! We were given balls that are hard and cushionless! It was great fun playing with other teams, and although we lost, I don't think we are that bad!!! It's the lack of communications that gave us unforced errors!
Apart from the fabulous time we had, I saw 2 familiar people at the beach!
1st is my NYP lecturer, Mr Edmud Teo! I was quite surprise seeing him there, and I thought he came with all the young NYP students that was crowded around him! It was not to be! Anyway I still remember I tried to sms an answer to a friend in the exam room and got caught by him!! uhOH! Lucky I was let off!! WEE!! HENG AH!!
2nd is my BMT platoon mate, Gabriel... He is famous because in our platoon then, he was able to do 26 chin ups at one go! Then he real one toned walking muscle, now though slightly deflated, I think he is still capable of the feat!

To end, I realise the weather hasn't been too kind lately! Alot of friends are falling sick... and cars get dirty very easily too, people cannot enjoy their sports... It's wreaking havoc to the general public! I wish everyone good health and enjoy your preparations to the new year!

Entrepreneurship class is has enterprising and unexpected people!! I must mention her! Nicknamed, "Laksa"!!! 23th Dec, a day where people are rushing to complete their christmas shopping. 6 incredibly siaons entrepreneur wannabee sat down at citylink gelare talking about why are they here, this time, discussing something that they shouldn't during the festive season!
Of course, discussions were slow and hard to coordinate! The festivities just make people goes into a daze!!! Some of us seemed reluctant to do anything!!! Our dear Chief Finance Officer(CFO), Laksa was calling the shots and directing the whole show! When we were soooo BORED! Everyone's ideas was pretty much drained by the santas and rudolph music that surrounds!!
Laksa went into the ice-cream shop(Gelare)! As sneaky as ever, brought out an ice-cream cake with 2 huge and 2 small candles!! WAAA... Stun... It was pretty much everyone's reaction in the beginning... If time can quantify a spilt second... Stun can be seeen!!
It was for Hari and meee!! Happy B'day Hari... and me!! haha! This was as much as it can get! Both of us were real happy as it was really really, REALLY, UNEXPECTED!! Thank you Laksa and the people who were present that day. =) AND...
On the same day, it was Bernard's Bday! Happy B'day Berniee...

24th day... Family and I packed our stuff, went in my whitey!! And I drove... Up! Up! to Skudai and Pulai Spring Resort... Ask me why am I so excited about this? First time driving up ma!! =)
Also, it has been abt 1 yr plus since I went to a golf course! Everything was pretty much the same, except I think I am a little better than before probably because of the army training!!!??

HAHA yea right!! Anyway... It wasn't a great christmas eve morning... Breakfast was beef kuay teow!! My goodness, the kuay teow was great!! It's a small coffee shop facing the new Malaysian customs. The not so great part of the day came when I decided to swim!

Went to the pool, place of my goggles, the centre piece broke!! I took out 2 spare centre pieces, ALL BROKE!!.. WTH, it's TYR summore! Nevermind, I decided to go up to the heated jacuzzi. Open the glass door, I see 5 Ah Nehs, 5 huge ones, dominating the pool! 1 Dad and 4 sons! They practically treating the place like their own... even the place smells like their own...

Christmas dinner at the resort was great, the buffet was a sumptous spread(Turkey & stuffings, Breaded prawns, Braised duck, Milk Oysters +++) and the cakes and pastries or rather call it desert, had a variety so much it can simply replace the main dishes!!

Next day, it rained! I was suppose to play Melana course with dad... We have to wait until the afternoon and see if the weather holds up! 12 p.m., a cruel revelation as we wanted to drive to the buggy bay and unload the golf bags!! The car alarm wouldn't respond!! I wasn't able to open the car remotely! After some diagnostics, we confirm that my car has a dead battery. Don't know how, who, when, why, it went DEAD! Mom panic, Dad's cool. Ask a buggy mechanic down to fix! 5rm was the tipping damage for the quick response! Car was back alive and we were ready to go!

Everything went pretty normal with no jams at the causeway!! Smoooooth flow as we reached our humble abode! =)

I felt I was like in my secondary days, days before. In a blink of an eye, the years of fun faded! The phase of adulthood is approaching my way. I have many friends working, saving up for their potential bride. And time brings us to a next stage of experience!

Getting old isn't a bad thing, but looking old is!! A simple rule of thumb should be 'you should look younger than you are'... Or thinking of having a constant age look of 25 will be a very nice thing to have! I know some "unkers" that are 30+ but look 25! Some secrets they have and probably won't reveal.

19th Dec 2005, as the longest needle of the clock hits 0000, my age increases 1 more to 22... And it's probably time to find somebody to fill the empty spaces of my life!

I have wonderful friends! 19th night is the night we go chjimes for steak and acid bar to chill... THanks for the pressies especially the customise shirt!! Everytime Ill think of the shirt, I just laugh! Haha~~ It was really unexpected a surprise! Well, I normally don't get shocked and surprised by presents because they are almost quite the same! Bags, watches, perfumes, shirts from the departmental store!! Never thought of having a fully customise shirt! It was customised from the right sleeve to left and the back. It was stunner, really and happy!! Thanks(Mic,Ade,XP, whoever involoved, WT, Nic, Elay?) for the plan and wonderful effort!
I will never forget yall b'days!! And will do my part to make it really special! =D~ especially for XP ya 21 next yr!! AUNTIE liao! =)

Ministry of Sound, Penang Food and Bike re-orientation!

ALright! It had been 3 happening days... Private party invite to MoS was a bang for party goers! And I am very sure, very sure that alot of people cheat by forwarding SMS to people to gain free entry! Thats what we did and it worked very well! Although the club opens at 9pm, when we were there at 9.30pm the queue snaked far behind across the roads! It took use 2 hours to queue, and finally got in at around 11pm...

Although there were some rowdy people behind our back, it didn't dampen the mood!! It all happens that some of my friend's friend came back and thought of joining the queue from there, and these bastards just murmur behind our backs, if they dare just say it out loud, gutless boys!!!! These people smoke, talk and think they are some ah seah kia!! Even they are ah seahs, I give a dam, they don't seem to have a good upbringing and future. Low lifers!!

Anyway, the place is amazing! nicely decor with lovely split rooms providing different genres to different clubbers taste! My favourite was the white "ipod" style room that plays House music!! Fantastic I must say! 2nd on the list is trance floor!!! 3rd was the austin powers like retro room(BOGEY!!)!! yayE!! I feel young agaiN!!... Our day ended at 2a.m. with some prata further down at M.S. where the clubs seems totally DEAD!! And from my perspective, I feel that MoS is going to take over the clubbing scene, with careful planning of the franchiser LifeBrandz...

They achieved all the above and I think they can make it very very big from a business standpoint.

18th Dec, my dad suddenly propose to go down OCC for their penang dinner fair! Yep, as usual, a buffet that is packed with people!! The best thing was that they fry, make, cook on demand!! The bad thing was, due to mass production, quality suffers!!
My favourites are the Penang char kuay teo, putuh mayang and Ice Kachang!!!
It has been a long time since I ate thin fried chilli coated char kuay teow!! The taste and smell is totally different compared to our normal chinese char kuay teow!!
Putuh Mayang is suppose to be you white beehoon with orange sugar? But no!! This place makes green bee hoon with fine brown sugar, banana and pineapple slice!! It's very very good!! Yummy =) The best thing is that the putuh is hand made!! There is this wooden jig that the indian used!!...
All of the chefs comes from penang road side stalls and were invited to showcase their foods in this fair!! It's still on now until the 26th of Dec at Vanda Orchid Country Club...

Haven been cycling for so long, my legs felt so itchy last night... I smsed Vic~ and he replied okay for this morning coastal route ride!! My cycling buddy last time is so into his NUS activites he probably forgotten about me!!! Sad right!! Ok~~ We started off late at 10PM.. nothing much to talk about!! Th picture says all!! It was a slow orientation ride before I will start training for next year's Duathlon! March I think? Cross training will be good for now before the IHG road relay starts during the coming January!

Just came back from a rough ride this morning..
We "landed" at golden mile shopping centre at about 9AM.
Quite late! Unfortunate incidents happened along the bus journey.
1st, the bus driver was angry about us taking too long on our dinner.
2nd, a friend of mine lost his wallet in msia!!
We all hope some kind msian will return his possessions to him!
The moment we reach, I took a cab back home, trying to unload all the pictures from the cam to the web... moments later a msn mobilisation tell me to be in school 1PM immediately for project discussion!
WtH!! i hurried back to school... After that, time flew! 5 P.M. I rushed back to my hall and prepared for IHG road relay training!!
Long long day without proper sleep.. and I am still typing this.

Summary of thoughts

The trip except for the bus journey was fun!
Lima exhitbition was much of a disappointment if you have experienced how Asian aerospace conducted themselves all this years!
Seafood at langkawi is CHEAP and SEDAP! 30 rm a person you get!

ellO! another DIY weekend!! most probably my last for the year!!

Last night!! what a coincidence!! I down to autobacs after school and to my surprice I saw michael's car in one of the parking spaces! I didn't expect to see anyone I know... Well, from there I bought car sponge, metallic antenna and anti slip mat!! nothing much actually!! Michaels vehicle was in pretty bad shape from the back!! I know! lady drivers right?!! /tsk tsk!! lolX!!!
Ugly uglYY... =P

Woke up this early morning, fine weather! I thought it might be a good day for cycling!! But I have a backlog of stuff to do! Sound proofing the rear doors was one of them!! I have to start working on my 3 pieces of cable hunter SP material which bought online for 70 dollars!! What a deal! =] All in all, I spent 3-4 pain staking hours doing and refining every detail of the SP material!~.. yes and I was slow.. taking my time to measure and cut...!
Took out loads of news paper and lay it out on the floor. For templates, I use Urban newspaper(wednesday issue), which have a size just right for measuring the doors! I placed the newspaper into the door, fold to the shape it fits and get back, using it as a template to cut out the sound proofing piece!
It took many toos and fros and I think I had spent quite good effort on it, piecing the puzzle making it as neat and compact as possible...

yepS! I did abit of the floorpan because I still had about 3/4 piece of SP material left!, So I shared the 3/4 at both sides!! ANd really! now I can't feel the vibes of the bare metal below the accelerator no more!! It's definately not a placebo!. Upon removing the carpet, I must say that Toyota has done a great job SPing the floorpan, they have lots of boxed styrofoams and wooly SP material below your feet! Tom Yam Car isn't that bad afterall! =]
The last picture was a bad job done by AE where I installed by sound system... Installation had been good and professional, but they had overlook on the mid bass rattle in my car~, remove some unwanted plastic of the plastic door and placed it back as good as new!!
Now.. My hand are full of scratches!! thanks to the sharp edge of the metal doors!! It shreds the same like paper cut!! ouch!!

Back from Poh Heng with nice whites!! I think except for the rim caps, it looks pretty alright right? They don't look really compatible to me!! I need some of your comments!! Can be a critic too! Don't worry about me! I need honest comments!!
I chose white because I didn't want it to become a fierce vehicle.. Like every other car on the street that wanna be fierce(sorry). I saw nice SSW black matt rims that will look real aggressive... I decided to tame mine with white...
It's a taiwan rim, from TOP Racing, no money really =~ from the pocket okay!!
It comes with Falken ST115 performance tyres for an additional 50 bucks!!

Okay!! Last night was quite an exciting night for some of the aero people! Can you believe this? Your university professor arranging a meeting at a posh cafe by himself with the intention to treat?!!!!?? I know some professors who do not even wish to answer questions in the tutoring group, not even talking about them opening their consultation hours to us! The few of us (I think we shld have 2 more people was suppose to join us) was really fortunate to have him as our mentor... Yes I mean really!! =]

I decided to throw away this image thing and decided to get myself the BBQ ribs. Except for the presentation of the dish, it was quite nice~. BBQ sauce was able to penetrate just a little of the ribs and the inside the taste of smoked and texture of alittle fat accompanied by fine strands of meat can really makes someones day!! Side dish wasn't too fantastic~ Fries the norm, coleslaw and some nuts mixture <<-- don't know what it's called!
The live band was from indonesia~ Not being too harsh on them, their equipments and singing ability is just average. It's just probably one of those unpopular nights when these "bands" actually get a chance in the limelight. A big contrast the night before at walas which literaly blew some of us away!

The night ended rather prematurely with the introduction of dan's special friend =]! We screened her for you dan! From my POV, I think shes very nice(if ya reading this). And just to let out a little secret, she asked about you~ =] Of course, we can't say anything bad about you!! Night ended well, Everyone left for home except for Wei Hong and Me...

Went meet up with 2 pals in orchard before we proceed down to club momo to party. It was quite a surprise to see angeline of our entre class down there(momo)! Going in wasn't a pleasant experience, music was over booming loud... you can feel the low frequency vibrations and the music sounded very flat! It was so much unpleasant to the ears. Music started off very slowly, with some moments of nice never aging tracks and idling beats. Climax was at 2am when they really played recent hits from madonna, modjo, black eye peas... It sounded more like a club that sided the Black eye peas... They were playing many of their tracks. Overall it was just an average experience, the songs weren't there to spark of anything. The beats were pretty off~ And the crowd varies quite widely. You see young boys to middle aged man~. It's like a rojak pot!

We ended the activity at around 3am, and jeff suggested that we eating the "famous" porridge, just probably it closes late, we classify them as famous!!! It wasn't that nice anyway... it was too salty!! or may be i didn't order their claypot, which is suppose to be their specialty!!

Took off shoes at 4.45 am, dreamland by 5... =] Thanks for reading haha!

After weeks of belating! It finally come to an end! We are doing a combo! celebrating both Nick and Xiu Ping's bday in one significant day! 30th Nov 2005... WTH they were thinking of adding mine in as well. since it's like just 20 days away~... boo!! these are what frenz i for~~ zzzz
We reached essential brew at approximately 7.20, adeline and michael seem like 2 nice cute little pooh bears waiting for us!!... even when we drove into the lane, from the corner of the turn, it really seem like a couple pooh beside the glass window.. how cute!
1st pic is what Elay,XP and me had, a rosti. 2nd pic is what mic had, some honey mustard chicken! 3rd was the so called mee goreng spaghetti that adeline ordered... Elay saw her secondary school fren working part time there, and she was real nice offering some sample ice cream and a discount... so sweet!! at least mic enjoyed it... he was saying that it has evaporated milk in the ice cream.. I beg to differ.. zzz lolX!
Nick got his pressie(Retro nike bag!), and guess what!! The person who bought the pressie didn't remove the price tag~~ dam careless man!! turn off!!~ boo!! minus marks for being a friend!! haha!
As we were walking down the main street, heavy down poor led us to settle at coffee bean where XP open her lovely pressie and this time, no price tag!! phew!! Yea, gucci gift set! I guess shes happy with it... and possess some shots with the gucci box! Please envy her =]
Finally ended the day with some nice waffles at gelares and live band at wala's...

Wedding day is one of the rare occasions you can really meetup with distant relatives, chit chat on the same table. And I feel that the time now is appropriate! Since Chinese New Year is around the corner, and will be going round their houses for visits... It seems like a prelude to the festivity!
My cuzzie host her wedding at marina mandarin hotel... Ball room looks superb! Great sound system, awesome visual effects and the layout of the ballroom is probably one of the best! That means, everyone will have a good view of the stage and hallway! The food was not too bad, abit saltish on some of the items like the tea duck and asparagus! Everything went smoothly and was seemless! and that I feel have to be the most important... All thanks to her little sis! termed the OOH I SEE! (OIC) (overall in charge) =]
Anyway, the funny part comes during the opening of the dinner... the banquet waiters walk into the ballroom, up the stage and dance with the plate of cold dish!!~ Was a great opener~ can't stop laughing of cuz! hehe!!
There, I caught 1 person that I had never seen for a very long time!! probably abt 6-7 yrs!. Vanessa a short distant cuzzie!! Long time no see! Glad to hear shes in NTU too, staying in hall summore!! can go mess up your room some time next sem!
All in all, I think it's a great wedding and I give my heartfelt blessings to the lovely newly weds!
In 2 yrs time, I will have a new ang pow to collect!! yea yea yea!!

Growing old isn't a bad thing, the process of savouring different phases in life could just be the best thing about life. Years pass by so quickly so fast that soon enough, you will be a white hair sage. On the other, I think that aging so fast is the limiting factor of maximising life itself! Still everyone has 24 hours each day to learn about themselves, people around and understanding surroundings.
My close relative is in the process of getting married... Time flies, thinking of the days meeting up at grandmas house, sitting on the huge round table having a nice dinner in a polite and forgiving manner. I haven't felt so different before. And it will stay for futures to come! I am very happy to have a new friendster root attachment that will enhance the social circle and give my fullest congratulations and jubilant welcome to a new family member! CONGRATS!

Went for a panic buying last night at tampines mall. Even they were closing(sliding door were down, I was knocking on the glass window, wth), the lady cashier was very polite, and ask if I really need any help! Nice tie right!! I chose it myself =]

DIY Rubberise wheel arch Insulation!

Morning tired expression! Woke up 8am on a saturday morning for DIY!
Slept at 2... great sleep... super cold aircon!! feels like waking up after winter!

Yes a mask is adviceable, the aerosol stinks!! And even with this mask, you will still absorb some of the fumes, makes u groggy, and intoxicated!!
Wear goggles if you hav...!!

Step 1 : Jack up the car!! DUHH!!

Step 2 : Remember to prepare your supplies!!
1 x Maskin Tape (for the Arch)
1 X Pail with unwanted cloth (for cleaning the Arch)
1 X Face Mask (to scare your neighbours and protect youself)
1 X Jack (Don't ask me whats for!)
4 X Aerosol rubberise spray! ( 1 can 4 coats )
Please wear a Tshirt that you don't want, you will get really really dirty after lying around on the floor.. esp in MSCP!!

Step 3 : Clean the interior of the wheel arch... it's full of sand mud and grit!!

Step 4 : Tape the arch. Make sure the boundary is thick enough so as to prevent you car coat to be damaged!

Step 5: Place Newspapers on the wheel. This will help accidental sprays into the brake calipers.

Step 6 : If ya doing this in your own property, please place some form of protection for your flooring... Mom n Dad gonna kill me!!

Step 7 : Please wait for the coat to dry. Have some nice chill 100 plus.

Step 8 : Final results should show that it's abit viscous on the outside.. and looks mean!

Step 9 : Salute to the little boys in white!!

Some words of advice here!
For vios front wheel, there are places that they have never spray a layer for tar coating!
Hence it will be good if you stretch your tiny hands and move into the area of weakness!
You might realise that by spraying that area will spill alittle into the engine bay!! But don't worry, it's fine! or at least i think it is!~=]
Also, when the can is fresh and heavy... try to spray to hard to reach sections, when the pressure in the aerosol can is so much higher than later.. it will give u a nicer coating as well as less blobs!
Ill be trying out the effect of the undercoat later! To all my vios buddies. thanks for teaching!

sorry to keep yall waiting, and yes, new post and progress is finally along it's way. Exams are over( or nearly at least!). This month had it's ups and down.. thrilling and boring. I found a great study partner... Bernie!! yes... this guy super responsible.. hardworking and full spirited and quite available... any of you wanna know him please tell me!! 1 month of mugging is really a full month of staying in school till late... oh sheet, and that is the worse part of it! Somehow you wish you were at east coast, strolling, chillin at some club and doing so much more than just studying... time was scarcity... and alot more when it comes to studying. Most of all I miss my hall pals! Mic, Nick, WT, XP, Ely, Ade , ML + many many more... It's like super cold turkey! Lets go JB okay! HAHA!!

To all the aerospace class, I wish yall the best and the very best to rise up above the commons and do very very well to do our "shaker" proud. Not some kind of cony statement, don't think too much!

Like everyone else, the season of play and enjoyment is here for a month plus to last! Yes, langkawi aerospace is comin... and we the aero people will be going together!!

Cool breeze at night make do without air condition in the hall.
Although there are certain days with gusts of hot air..Down here in the "lonely" western region of singapore is pretty dry and cool...

2 months ago.. my first big ticket item was order... I think it's probably my birthday present coming early... And last week it just arrived.. good stuff.. really happy... Collection was at pasir panjang docks... it's a great experience there... me, my dad n the sale executive went down to do the final signing and collection of the car. It's a first time I see so many new cars... it's like a showroom man!! Other than toyota, Suzuki and other makes were parked there...
Beside my ride was a hUMONGOUS Fortuner.. 2.7L... good stuff..

Fuel consumption of this vehicle is just soso for now... After having a full tank shell 95, first bar drop at 100 km. 2nd bar drops at 65km. There are total of 8 bars to a full tank...
I think an average bar drop is about 70-75... 8 bars will yield 560 to 600 km per tank(45l).
Average distance covered per litre, 12.4 km/l - 13.3 km/l. At least it's not like a sucker compared to my dad's X trial, which yields like 7-8 km/l... of course, you pay for what you get!

I went down audio edge last night.. with a budget of 300-400 wanting to audition some component speaker upgrade options.. The boss was very polite and nice... and I met a motoring club member of NTU(his drivin a mazda 2) in the shop too~~ Cool~ End up finding PHD speakers very very goood... although I was thinking just to buy a set a component speakers. I might consider their package offer of a PHD speaker, Diamond amp, and a boom box for 900+... My hands feel damn itchy, but my saint side tame me down... It said, do not spend too much money now, leave it for future upgrades and satisfaction...

ANyway mines just an OPC... 7am to 7pm is a nono.. unless i pay 20 SGD.. thats a killer man~~

School recess!

Finally! After the 1 term in school, it's high time for a break. The week was pretty much anticipated by everyone in school. And I feel the recess that was laid out isn't for students to go wild and have fun. It's more like for weaker students to do their catchup to get on par with everyone else.

A week ago, down at the Quad near sch of bio science, my friends and I were finding a table. The time was 12.45 and definately it was crowded! There were people "parking" near tables and one of them was me. It was a common sight waiting for a table. At least it's much gracious than running around looking for unexpected leavers. Just as this group was taking their belongings and was prepared to make their leave. This mainland chinese man zoomed in and took a seat on my "parked" table!! IT WAS FREAKING UGLY!! It was one of the most ugly human behaviour I ever seen! After sitting at that table, the chinese shouted over to his female counterpart teller her to come over. I made noise, but I am sure a mainland chinese with such determination will go to full lengths, even with the most ungracious ways to show me he takes the table.

I am not much of a racist byt I really don't understand these people... Somehow I do wish that the seat got some kind of nail and poke deep into him! Anyway, we found another table minutes after.

Yea yea!! Guess where were we when Mister Prime Minister was in NTU!
YES YES, we were in town... we didn't pon teng aka skip lesson... The school skip us!! Means no lessons la! Well... we went down orchard <-- where else is town man! Singapore is so small!, at approx 1.30pm... Hey mic! Next time we go JB okay! lol~~ bring password and change ringgit...

We walk n walk til 3.30pm and placd ourselves in one of the famous place for sushi buffet @ heeren!! Hey we are all students OKAY!.. All along, after polytechnic I had been paying adult fare for almost anything!! It' s a great feeling having a title of student again! wahah! Mic eyes was definately on the CHIJ gals.... Behind us was a group of 6 gals with big empty stomaches.... THEY BEAT US!!.. We were having only about 50 plates for 6, and they seems to have 70 plates and more... wow!!
I didn't know gals can eat theseeee much!!!

Walk walk walk, we ended up taking neo print pictures... Ehh.. man, mei and ting were very excited lor!!.... Sometime you think how can a printing machine gives so much enjoyment... =D
The drawing part was the most excitinggg... I had to agree it was fun designing people... hahah!!!

Hall 5 DND!!!!

Sorry for the recent inactivity!!! Life stills go on very well as usual! Busy adapting to a whole new lifestyle. University is great!! Mix of stress and fun!

Last night 27/08/05 was NTU hall 5 DND, arabic theme named Alf Wa Layla... DND personnel were all dressed extravagantly, wearing "RUBIES", "EMERALDS" and stones of all colours!
We were on the road 11am in the morning... And the hair do took close to 3 hours to finish!!
Arriving at Conrad at 3.30pm, we did our dance rehearsals and miscellaneous tie downs...

It was great fun, the pass 3 weeks of dance lessons and "kat" walk...MEOW!! And it was time to show!

If you attended the DND, thank you for coming!! When you were eating fake sharkfin soup and doufu, we had our pack of chicken rice. Sufficient for all of most of us to be happy before we sleep =D
May be not for me... Our mini OG(Ophiel) groups (Michael, KK, Matthew, Elayne, Wei Ting, Jean, XP, Eugene) went for supper at Lau Pa Sat after that... For michael and me, we are in dire need of food haha! =D~ Detaching from the group I went home after that, to get rest for NB real run this morning... Ophiel went KTV!!! I think it was great fun =[ and I missed it... =[[[[[ SAD!!

This morning, alarm rang!! 7.15 it was, hoping my momndad was awake... and they were. They sent me to harbourfront for the race. The sleep was sufficient to keep me awake. I saw some of my ex colleagues from SAFPU, Chelliah AKA hell and company, sg chan and sg chen. It was great to see old faces at a run! =D Just to share, the shirt that was in the goodie bag has a nice colour scheme... Orange (MY FAV!) and white (Pureee) =D... Not only that, it's drifit! yumm.. I love the shirt alot... Thanks new balance!...

2 weeks in university seems a month!
Busy worse than a bee!
It's hard to explain such roughness you get after you been out of the books for a long time... Lectures seems to be like huh! wtf!, as if I didn't learn trigo, vectors this kind of feeling... And it sucks!

After the 2 yrs of stagnant mind, it's hard to get the rusty pistons running again...
I have difficulty catching up. JC students were better off! Because in the first year we are taking physics chemistry and F mathes... to them they had tried and tested in their college, especially gals who just grad from their A levels have no problems with the modules what so ever... Without fundamentals and 2 yrs of failing memory, I am now doing a hard pursuit! Last saturday, we had a foto shoot for the hall 5 pageant... it was exciting.. 1st time shooting man!! here are some pics

Sorry pEEP! I was away for like a week! It was orientation camp! Hell! And a very tiring one. I never felt any sleepier in my life before.... I didn't regret joining this great camp... It was organised by members of Hall 5 commitee called HAVOC... They are high energy, enthusiatic undergrads that are willing to put a smile on your face...

We had ice breakers, yea Singaporean style. Games like name remembering, etc, were played... Followed after was getting down and dirty... Everyone was paired with a partner and go through some obstacles...

Dinner outing we had near city HARVEST church!! Yes, I purposely cap the harvest!! I think people that follows the church deeply are harvesters... They will do anything to get you into their clan!!! I am sorry to those who are neutral but are going to that church because of religious purposes. But these people had overshadowed the name of the church.

Ever tried drinking vinegar + soya sauce + flour + water.
Yes I did! The game here is to use all these ingredients in a given quantity to weigh an amount of 250 gm. The first try will be +- 10 gm, second +-20gm... So and so on... Our team were real lucky to get through the 2nd round... drank abit, body suffered but still survived!! yay!!

Hey!! This game we played is MONOPOLY!... And it's played in the heart of Singapore, Orchard Road... The tough part was the running about... The loop of the game encompasses Lido-Borders to New OG at cuppage... A great deal to run about... And the sad thing that day was that we, the leaders in the beginning went to jail twice consecutively!!! We lost the lead and the prize of the day!! A chalet at changi... =[ In the end we had to sleep in a tent

2nd day of challenge, everyone was exhausted!! Teams were all walking!! dragging their sore feets with them!! AWEEE... We were dragging too!!! It boiled down to luck and we got 2nd place, got our chalet at coasta sands!!!.... WEEEEEEEEE

Last day ended with games at sentosa... I thought it was great, but I wasn't feeling too well.... Felt exhausted and sick... Being such that I can put my thoughts through easily and accurately. It was enjoyable =]

After gotten keys on friday with the nice warm help of hall 5 people. Expectations were high, I am expecting to see, nice new beds, clean fans, those you will see when you got into a hotel room.Twist of the key to the right... CREAK! Doesn't sound good. It seems that the last person stayed here could be quite awhile ago! A pull the the door reveals everythings... My heart sank. Expectations shattered. The place has the WORSE HYGIENE IN THE WORLD. I saw a few ants nests.. Not only that, small spideys running all over the floor. Grills were rusty. Aluminium plates corrode and floor filled with filth and dust.I screamed and made noise... This cannot happen to an UNDERGRAD!!... IT'S SICK!! What is this, 3rd world university?

Well, I don't have the pictures to show for the filthy place. But i am glad what me and my room mate did today. We spent time cleaning and 'painting' the walls. Yes, the walls were kicked dirty and filled with some kind of yellow ZHAP!... GOOOOEY... Disgusting... looks like some kinda muCUS!. Well, we took the initiative to get some paint and revamped the whole room.

11~12km Run

It was clear skies, and I was expecting the day to be hot. 7.15 a.m. I woke up feeling like a snail, sliding on the bed, not wanting to wake up so early but I have to. 7.30 a.m. I am dressed in running gear and wore my polar HRM and get ready to warm up... Drinking some 100 plus to ease later cramps...
I started running down from my house at 7.45 a.m. . It's a sight of the morning rush hour. When you see people, run for buses, waiting cross handed and chasing after the earliest arriving MRT. On the other hand, I am in running attire, making my way down to east coast...

I have no water bottle with me, so I expect myself to slow down around the 25 min mark... which will take me abit pass 6 km. Along the way, there were army personnel manning water stations, and Victoria school boys either taking their IPPT or was training... round the big lagoon. There isn't a big crowd, most of these morning people were aunties and uncles in their 40-50's and some walk their dogs to the park... Some went back with their prized fish through an overnight stay at the bedok jetty.

It was a great run, I was able to hold up despite my last 10km run was last week.
Anyway don't expect to find hot roller blading chicks on a week day morning. The red line above explains my route. Nothing special for the day... And I had been thinking of the interview I will attend tomorrow. Hope they will bring good news to me =]

Unloyal to Nokiaaaa!!

I have been a long time supporter of nokia symbian OS phones, I thought it has great flexible applications that can work wonderss... I was so stuck with my 7610... And certain pictures here was the delicate creation of that cell phone.

When I first got the 7610 a year ago, excited like anyone else, I kept digging online forums for applications and games that came top in thread views. Though it's seems ridiculous to play games on a small screen, type words documents with stumby buttons, and view videos clip on a 1.5" x 2.5" screen. I find it rather interesting then... The novelty weared off... It's not enjoyable doing the above, it's more like a torture for complexity to arise... In dialect, it's just liao xi gang.. waste time.. Why would you wanna do these on a phone, while a computer can put you at ease, doing better. Thats why I don't like PDA phones... They look nice, but useless... Tell me how many times you will use the pocket word, excel or any other stuff in the PDA.

Singtel was having a desire 0705 road show at ngee ann city today... Hardwarezoners are great informers, they simply got the latest technology to place a post on the website in record time... I learnt from the forum that there was a great deal for the Sony Ericsson K750i. At 538 SGD, they give you the set, bluetooth headset, flash and 60 dollar taka voucher... Not taka jewelery!! Lol!! Yes, I was pretty sad when I traded in my N7610 for a record low price.. lol... I am impressed by the camera and radio features of this phone... N7610 wasn't so "multimedia", and the camera was just 1.3 MP w/o auto focus technology. Using the K750i feels difference. When ya taking pictures you can feel the lens moving inside the phone.. Like some mechanical feel to it... Still grasping the SE interface... And there is more to explore... over n out!!

Dilution of police rigidity...

Police are here in the civil world to maintain and uphold justice in all manners. On the roads, we got our beloved traffic police that can be hail prince of the roads. The owns the place, they speed, they do illegal parkings just to catch us off our guard. Saying this, is our traffic police really that bad? I beg to differ. They are doing their job and always, the real TP catches real speedsters and hazard buggers. It is the cisco "TP" in their mini scooters hiding in one corner of the bushes ready to pounce on any minor and controversial mistake that we Singaporeans can be kept off guard. They are in abundance; no wonder cisco... Yet, they shed no mercy on ambiguous parking offence that comes to mind. I think even our own original TP will show compassion and impartial judgement to certain offences. Just as I heard, cisco hires quite abit of malaysians. You might not get what I mean. But for some, I think it's pretty clear cut.

Today, I got a parking ticket. Offence 22(H). Am I going to jail? Maybe... Not because of the offence. But because of my rebuttal against their misjudgement. I might just find myself infront of a magistrate and plead guilty to defaming offencings... Hell no! Singapore like any other country is a me sue you, you sue me country. Playing with words is all that civilization has to offer. No one dare to offend the great political party and suffer in silence. Which I will feel so unhappy about. Isn't this about a free world, or just a free world with political encapsulation.

Offence 22(H) states an offence parking within 3 metres of a fire hydrant. I see clear cut cases a car is parked where a passenger door just swings out to a fire hydrant. Or a boot just adjacent to the fire hydrant. In my situation, all these requirements are not satisfied and the distance from the hydrant to the boot is 5 metres. I will be quite impress if a cisco guard will take out his measuring tape and start rolling it to my car. Hell, was it just pure estimation of his that fails him a place in the polytechnic or high institution. It's unbelieveable that it seems, yet I mean it seems, they want to fault every single motorist on such controversy. It just feels like I am driving in the neighbour's country, no sense of security. Always have the feeling that your car will be ticketed or towed away by some weirdo. What is there to become of this security which I think might plague in future to come. Police compassion and sanity judgement has ended due to the pulsative lifestyle of the city. Yet still, we can put ourself back to perspective when we chill out after a long day's work. As for now, I will need Justice Bao to bring impartialiality to me. I will appeal as it was really 3 metres away from the hydrant, if so much they insist of my paying for the offence, I will be grately disappointed for our country. But still there are people who got hanged for the offences they didn't commit. It just boils down who is reading my appeal then. =0

I was on a mission today! The rant and raving on multiple forums had set me up to buy battlefield 2 real quick... =D Especially when I personally saw my friend purchase the game infront of me last week. This feeling of owning it is unbearable... It's more like personal pressure any peer or other sources...

12.05 PM, was at funan the IT mall... you got to believe me, I see alot of on-the-ball sales man today. It was unusual for such a scene in Singapore. Service in many sectors of retailing wasn't expectations to an average Singaporean anyway. More importantly, Singaporeans want a bargain... How can you find bargain with good service down here... It's like mixing a billionaire with a scooter; an oxymoron...

Yes, I will like to continue. Today, is the day where the olympic commitee selects the venue of the olympics for 2012. As you might have known, it's London which won the bid to host the mass sports meet. And what I saw in funan was these people with IOC passes, shopping!!! Some were carrying purchases, others were looking around for high tech gadgets which in their hometown will be rather expensive. Even a retail prices, our tech stuff are still so much cheaper for them... And this was the probably effect of the sales service "improving". May be just for today, you see sales man opened their eyes wide, just waiting to pounce on a potential customer. The next thing he/she might know might probably be David Beckham he is serving. Holy hell~ some people just die to see him in person... I got my fair share of good service at the 5th level of funan, I got to say I am those who must live with a bargained. I asked the teen, who was manning the store at the time... He oblidged to give me 2 bucks off immediately!! I say bargaining can't be this much easier!! He got the deal and I got my deal... It's more like a win win for both of us. =D I forgave him for the lack of experience with the nets machine, he was polite enough to say," sorry I am new to this machine, I might take some time". Yes, no worries you phrased it nicely and in a nice tone, I can't be angry at all!! Just as I get back my atm card, he say thanks and sorry again... wow, such humility from a teen. I was humbled. I thanked him back with a great satisfying smile.

It was a great experience and a great deal. I must thank the arrivals of visitors, this will really give our service line a big boost.=]

Just a small review on the game; the awesome part of this game is that you can be a pilot, a tankee, a battlefield commander, normal foot soldiers and 'sailors'. Almost all fields of air, land and sea are covered. It pretty much a great fighting masterpiece. The area is so large and realistic. You might want to look for the demo before really buying the game. Beware of the high computer requirements. It's a great game altogether. I will give it 8.5 bananas out of 10. The missing 1 is to it's confusion of many control buttons one have to master, and the high computer requirements. And the final .5 CANNOT BE GIVEN... No games are perfect, if they are, there won't be any new breakthrough... so 10 bananas won't be possible =P

Yea, though it's not a good result to boast; compare to those do it all warriors that came in with approximately the same timing as us. urhHH, we are nothing.. Nonetheless, it was great effort that those who joined the fun and excitement of the well organised event. =]

There are a few goals set for me this month,
1) Get battlefield 2... the game!!
2) Get lots of swimming practice...
3) Start a slow progressive training towards NB real run without wearing out...

Nothing much on my mind these days, life is simple, monotonous... Unless you have lots of money to spend, you can do lots you want... I've been dreaming of owning a car, parents disagree from the high cost incurred... I guess the next best thing I can request for my Bday is a new road bike... hiak hiak! =D

Just as the weeks past so slowing, I can even count the mili-seconds ticking away... Anticipation of school should be the cause.... tick tock tick tockk.....

Left is Samuel Liew, God Damn Good Schwimmer. Middle man is Good Good Runner Elvin Liang. To the Right is me, the God Like Cyclist. To our own rough estimate, Sam Arrived withing 30 mins.
My bike leg was 1 hr 5 mins, and Elvin's running was about 45 mins. + 5 mins of transition time, err. 2 hr 25 mins?? lOl! Thats our estimate of course, will post the timings here when it's officially out! Stay Tuned!

It takes me 25 mins to reach NTU on a vehicle, but it takes me 1 hr 15 mins if I were to take the public transport. Talk about efficiency, I will spend 2 x more time doing nothing if the government not do something about the local transport. Yet, there are raising bus and train fare, am I right? Just my luck not having a direct bus just outside my house to school.

NTU is a ghost town now, 10am at the canteen, barely anyone... Sorry no pictures today... Didn't really wanna take your effort to see nothing!! I had my friend with me, who in the future might be my room mate... Woooo, we applied for hostel orientation which will commence around 18-20+ day of july. After talking to some year 3 oldbies, found out that hall 8 is actually pretty good. It's in a central location, bus stops just outside, the running track is just a few hundred metres away and they have a gym!! Sounds like chalet to me... wahha nO! man!

If you know me well, I am pretty ambitious... I will prolly turn the hostel around and add so much stuffs that makes me feel much at home... =D time to hunt for some furnituress... keke!!

Just came back from a short trip down town... Got 2 things done...
1. Register for New Balance Real Run
2. Purchase stationeries and hopefully find a book I like at kino...

Errand No. 1, destination stadium taka... The place was quite empty, not many people were patronising the shop then. The sales girls can take up loads of time attending to a customer at the payment counter. I wasn't in much of a rush and didn't show impatience, even knowing I was waiting they didn't show much concern about people queuing; behind me was a tourist.
It's not all their fault though, the customer was so fickle on chosing a pair of swimming goggles... rrr... But It will be of great service, if they were able to ask if what I want. Still, I paid my 20 buck registration fee and got a receipt No. 00521.. Mmmm, good if i buy 24 permutations of 0521? HEHE (:

Errand No. 2, destination Kinokuniya Bookshop...

Sometimes, it's real hard to find something you like. My book interest is limited, I don't like business books, war history, strike rich books, self motivation books. There are 2 main topics I will love to read, travel literature and current affairs.

I went on browsing a few books I might like.

Book A, There was this book about how we live our life in the current technological era. Instant messaging, email, sms had affected us greatly in terms of social and physcological aspects. Sounds interesting?? I guess they are just talking about us...

We are a colony of high techies... Don't we know ourself better than to read how people discriminate us. I did not buy it!

Book B, is about this french travel literature. This brit, who is a traveller moves around in france and see the distinctions of modern france and their culture. I think france is a really exciting country. It quite humbled by it's exuberant history with a very great advancement in technology. But yet, I did not buy it.

Book C, yes above is the book I've bought. It publishes the centennial history of how planes evolve and super power countries tries to awe public of their new releases of modern combat jet planes.

okay! enough on books... Lets talk about the mini Tai Tai!.. Realll... mini! heh! I went on to the magazine section to browse new issue of sportsmag. Similar to me there were many many others browsing other types of magazines. Everyone there were pretty much zipped! quietly enjoying the pictures that each page of a magazine can show.

2 sg teen girls, spoked in a heavy english accent... It was so unnaturally stressed that I nearly fell of my feet... They spoke so loud that everyone can hear them say "HEY LOOK AT THE BOOB!".. you guessed right!, they were reading some womens' mag... They were speaking in a tone such that you feel they are trying to be as classy as possible... Unbelieveable, This trend is rising pretty much everywhere... especially in the Orchard CBD region... I guess it's probably the status that when you are there on a weekday, you really much be a Tai Tai or a Tai Tai's daughter... Is it so difficult to be yourself??

I was hunting for multipurpose laptop bags for school. I went lotsa places... Sim Lim Sq, Funan the IT mall, Beach Road, Wheelock place.. etc... and I came back happily with 2 bags!!

Why the hell did I choose black?? Hey discreet man!! hush hush... Black is seen as a less obvious shade, and known to be a "dirty" colour... I love it, thinking that you spent thousands on a machine and don't want it to get robbed... Yea yea, get a 200+ bucks crumpler with a 17" powerbook, just being not careful will land you 4000 bucks poorer. Rather I find documents in the laptop so much priceless, I can't lose any of it...

Yet, on the other hand, there are still possibilities... =]

The STM backpack is a great buy! 35 litres of space man!! I don't even have to buy COE for this tank!! It's my ideal backpack... I can place my lappy, speakers, wires and such and still have space for books, shoebag and clothes!! Ain't this amazing!! At a cost of me looking like an overloaded turtle! HEHEEE!! Call me ninja!!

The gravis sling was kinda an impulse buy, don't really like the looks, and it looks pretty squarish when you sling it. It's pros, it's a toughy; the base material is rugged man! placing a few bibles inside won't harm the fabric!!...

I have been using a polar HRM for my rides, and you can see I am not so much of a strong rider I guess I will be able to pull through 33 km/h avg during the race. It's quite amazing how great riders like Lance Armstrong, winner of 6 TDF's to be able to do an INSANE avg of 40+ km/h!! Sometimes, he just reminds me of smallville's clark kent! Some of you out there ought to agree with me here!

I am East Coast Ready!

Just went down to reccee the cycling route of this sunday's 03 Jul 05 Osim Triathlon. I find the road compared to the recent NB duathlon bit bumpy; probably due to the heavy constructions going on at east coast. Road are small that makes safe handling very important. It's hard to speed along the inner coast where the return leg is because of the heavy cross and head winds in the early morning.

Yes, It's great to have the next 4 days on leave, mainly to train and to get prepared for my school...

Look what I have been drinking... For some of you might know, endurox R4. Great for recovery after a long tough workout... =] No I am not selling for them, but I swear this thing works, and you can get them in your local G N C store...

For some of you that is probably a little outdated, this years real run will be organised by New Balance and no more nike... Route is pretty much the same... Get more info here, www.realrun.com.sg . Hey man! register and you can get nice goodies from it... Though it's not like the NewPaper Big Walk that you can win a sedan from it. heh!

YeS. you are here, it's been a long time I've been free. I had almost completed payment for my Singapore Citizenship. National Service of 2 1/2 years has been partly rewarding and a big waste of time. Now at age 21, I feel a little old to start on a journey of re-education. But nonetheless, many seniors has walked the path I will be going through.

My term will start 25th July at NTU, it's very far and being an easterner, I have no choice but to stay in their hostel. Again, it will seem like army again; for some of you who knows there is army ranges near NIE. Thinking of that sounds... S..I..C..K.

Anyway, I will have a hostel mate I know. I know him through "government bonding", yes he is my leave clerk in my company.
I am not sure if I am ready for school, I had forgotten many things I had learnt and don't know really where to start.
